Deborah Quade (View My Profile)Deborah quit the rat race and her teaching career in Ohio in 1978 to live aboard a sailboat with husband Paul and small daughter Allison, navigating the intercoastal waterway to the Bahamas, and finally settling on tiny Water Island, a beautiful tropical jewel just off the larger island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since then, Deb’s assorted vocations and avocations have included more teaching, canvas works, helping Paul to build two homes on Water Island and the launch of a successful film production company called Grip Flicks. She and Paul are currently Owners/Managers of an eco-sensitive camping resort on their Water Island property, where she continues to use her creative skills to sew up luggage tags and can coolers bearing colorful island motifs.
