Sailboat

Cadeau is 13.5 metres long and displace 14 tons wwa (without wine aboard). Her 100 sq. mts. of sail can push her to 8 knots or more when surfing. The spinnaker is 170 sq. mts. and gives a lot of emotions as well as work. Swan’s typical companionway is horizontal and gives access to the main living area. The woodwork is impeccable, of semi-satinated teak. The lay-out is classic: navigation area to starboard, the galley to port and the saloon in front of the mast. The front cabin has plenty of storage room, a huge double bed and a private companionway. The aft cabin has a single and a double bed, and is warm and luminous. The heads, with warm shower, are very wide for its category. Originnally designed for the Members of New York Yacht, it did not take much to win many races at Cowes. As in the first whitbread, where a Swans arrived 1st, 3rd and 4th, a series boat was calling the shots. All thanks to the legendary hands of Rod Stephens mingled with the proverbial finnish seriousness. As the same Nautor says, “no one can afford to build a boat under S&S specifications any more….”
Cadeau is a classic Swan 44, designed by Sparkmann and Stephens, intact in its style and with just few modifications (double beds in each cabin, improved teak interiors, full optional and top class upholstery) to the original design. To the legendary superb way of sailing, Cadeau add of her own the safety of experience. She is one of the few Swans to round Cape Horn 3 times, and a long list of enthusiast guests reference her cruises in Alaska, the Caribbean, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, Brasil and Chile. Cadeau cruised between parallel 60 North and 56 South, with an immaculate record for safety in the worst waters of the world. Cadeau has her pictures on magazines, her name on newly surveyed patagonian channels, her voyages in some of the best memories of guests from Usa, Canada, Germany, England, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand, Italy and Belgium. Cruising in Cadeau means Italian cotton linen, first class gourmet dishes and glasses, 24 hours service, personalized itineraries. Cadeau always cruises a single party only, be it a couple or a family. No one else to share your plans and desires. If it is safe, we go when and where you want.

Destinations

Following the sailors' wake

Every destination you can choose on the globe has its own peculiarities. None is like another. History does not seem to change too much when we consider that most modern vessels come from Europe. Shipyards and sailors seem to fan out from the Mediterranean or the Channel. Even Americans feel this fatal attraction and end up imprisoned by the fascination of the witches conquering the heart of sailors since time immemorial. The Med is the cradle of art, the big bang of history and certainly the heart of cuisine. Following most yachtsmen route, we cross the Atlantic and stop in the Caribean. Still a world of ex-pats, be them from Africa, France or England, this crown of small and big islands keeps changing ashore, but preserve the same eternal blue soul once the white beach is left behind. At this point the wandering community splits and some go south, to discover the contrasts between the heart-maddening Brazil and the freezing marvels of Antarctica and Patagonia. The staggering contrasts between green bays surrounded by smiling girls dancing samba and windy coves pestered by icebergs is the reward of those opting for the southern route around the myth of Cape Horn. But still the wide majority of sailors chooses the Panama Canal and steers west towards the sunset beauty of Polinesia, with just a tiny group of adventurers heading north towards Alaska. The archipelagos along the route to Australia are endless and full of precious encounters. Galapagos, Hawaii, French Polinesia, Samoa, Solomon, Vanuatu and million athols are still there to be discovered. Once a day is lost crossing the dateline, Asia begins, with the stark beauty of the south east, that means Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. The round-the-world sailor's route continues, through the Maldives and the Red Sea, ultimately ending where it all began, around the volcanoes of Stromboli or Santorini, the temples of Agrigento and Crete but especially around a round table covered full by glasses of wine. While the modern traveller might complain he lost the thrill of exploration, he will never regret he can now combine the pleasure of discovery with the efficency of boat charter service, where Captains and crews will let you discover the world as the first adventure saw it, but in the meantime give you the advantage of doing so with a glass of perfect wine in your hand. Because 'sailing is certainly the best way to travel, unless you have a house...' (Mark Twain).

Typical Day

We are the first company to focus the greatest attention towards the gastronomic aspect of the cruise, trying to select vessels where the chef is capable of serving the tradition of your chosen destination for dinner. Moreover, the chef will also open for you the secrets of the flavours of his area. Chose also a wine tasting cruise for best result in the combination of wine and food.

Art Discovering Cruises

Our skippers will focus your cruise around art, ancient villages, urbanistic jewels and exhibitions, museums and architectural masterpieces of the coutries around the Mediterranean sea, the father of culture.

High Life

Sailing has always been the highest expression of the high life style. Now more than ever the demanding traveller finds a private charter the most exclusive way to spend his precious holidays. There are no two ways to offer this sevice, but just one: perfection. Hand-picked and referenced crew, spotless vessels, gourmet cuisine, attention to the detail. To this we add our wine and gourmet values, a deep knowledge of the cruising grounds, a close attention to the desires and wishes of the clients, and our passion.

Adventures
We select for you the best vessels sailing around the seas. Experienced skippers will guide you anywhere it’s safe and introduce you to the culture, traditions and heritage of the sea. Because life on the sea is something of its own.

Discover the Sea

Some of our vessels are sailing the oceans and the open seas. Teambuilding cruises, heavy weather sailing courses, sailing school, ocean crossings, sea miles, crew transfers and all the various activities where you will live the Sea, rather that travelling on it.

Sleeping and meals

Is there a better reason to travel than to discover the flavours of our world? Our eyes collect just images. Our tongue, our nose and our mouth, on the other side, aGre able to transfer a fuller range of emotions. Each country around the Mediterranean Sea has its own culinary traditions and its heritage of flavours. But there is more: these are so old and widespread that each region, even each village, has something peculiar to tingle your senses, a unique flavour, a particular variety of an already special ingredient or a local version of a strange recipe hidden in somebody’s grandmother cupboard. The cooks of each of our boats will be proud to prepare for you something that you will find only there. A cruise with these vessel will be indeed a journey in a world of flavours. We are the only charter company that does not limit itself in selecting a boat for you but provides the vessels with organization and logistic to deliver special food or a selection of wine directly at the harbour where you will board the vessel. We are therefore free to provide the best products and the finest wine chart, and be sure that this is what you will find during your precious holidays. Quality and new ideas, this is what we believe to be the only answer the the presence of a link between the boat and the client. We want to provide a full and complete service. And yes, we do think we live to eat, and not that we eat to live.

Our Mission
Armstrong Global is a team of executives, boat owners, sailors and captains aiming to link the curious and demanding traveller to the best crews and vessels sailing the Oceans. We provide professional consulting, solve problems, match your requests, organize gourmet and wine tasting cruises, share our long experience, spread our modest maritime culture, speak most languages, study the destinations, simplify payments and read the contracts for you. And we charge you nothing for it.

Our Passion for the Sea
If you wish to know the Sea, let us open for you a new and poetic way to discover the blue planet. The Sea is not just remote bays and crystal clear waters. The Sea has its culture, its traditions, its art and its flavours. A small village on the coast was born and grew according to the whims and desires of the Sea. And men became seafarers, sailors, fishermen and dreamers. A whole culture was born. It is this culture we want you to discover. Our aim is to find the better ways to enjoy the world of the sea. Its people, its heritage, its cuisine.
Armstrong Global can find a boat in any corner of the Oceans, introduce you to the new world of gourmet and wine tasting cruises, find you a berth on the most famous Mediterranean Regatta and strengthen your career opportunities through Team Building Special Cruises.

Each traveller has his own desires. To each of them we can find the perfect boat. The vessel capable of reflecting his desires and dreams. Each vacation must be tailor made on what the traveller wants, and the experience we gathered in chartering and brokering in most corners of the globe in the last years will find what you look for. Some broker might divide its market between formal or casual, adventurous or sophisticated. We prefer to understand what you want from the Sea and try to match it with our vessels.

The Sea is like a magic mirror, it does not reflect the appearance of what stands over it, but its essence and its soul. So it rarely gives back the image of a boat, but surely its dreams and desires. If the voyager searches history and heritage, the mirror of the Sea will reflect ocre shadows among white and blue hulls secluded in stony ancient havens. If the people on the boat want to relax by a sandy athol with leaning palms, the Sea will assume a blue and crystal clear hue with two white shadows painted on the shallow bottom. Again, the traveller might seek adventure in remote places, and a milky green surface will return the warm fires of a galley hidden among small icebergs and fir trees. To others, more interested in the pleasures of eating, the sea will be a generous dispenser of flavours and perfumes, echoed in the character and aromas flowing down the cliffs and valleys by the coast.
Once you are aboard, our crews and Captains will continue the search for your desires and select, within your chosen destination, a perfect route among the several possible. Whether you prefer to hop among lonely coves, charming restaurants or fashionable clubs, we'll steer in your desired direction.
