This is a journey to one of the most isolated regions of Tibet, and yet ironically both Hindu and Buddhist consider it to be the centre of the world, both physically and mentally. Mt Kailash (6714m) is the holiest mountain in Tibet- it is the throne of the gods' The Indus Brahmaputra, Sutlij and Karnali rivers begin their journey to the plains of India and Pakistan from here. This is the ultimate pilgrimage site for Hindus, and Buddhists, who come to circle the holy mountain and bathe in the freezing waters of Lake Mansarovar (4560m). A ritual bath on this lake will deliver a pilgrim to Brahma's paradise and a drink of its water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes. The 53 Km Kailash circuit is the holiest of all Tibet's pilgrimages and the beacon which draws most travellers to Western Tibet. It is said that a Single Parikarma erases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 circumbulation will achieve Salvation Or Nirvana. We begin our journey from Kathmandu. crossing the crest of the Himalaya, follow the Tsang Po (Brahmaputra),river, then cross the lapchuna Kangri Range, enjoying stunning views of the northem slopes of the Great Himalayan Range past several lakes and on to Mt Kailash, Once here we will trek around Mt Kailash, upto grandeur of the scenery is unbelievable.Be prepared to travel on rough roads for long distances, though scenery of magnificent isolation (bar the pilgrims and Yak herders!), unbelievable mountain views. OUTLINED TOUR PROGRAM:DAY 01 : Embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu – Kodari . Walk to The Friendship Bridge and drive uphill to Zhangmu . After completing custom and immigration formalities, proceed to Nyalam . O/nt at Htl Nyalam or similar . (153 Kms / 6-7 Hrs) DAY 02 : Stay at Nyalam (3750m) for acclimatization . The Group will be taken for a 3 hrs Trek in Nyalam . O/nt at Htl Nyalam or similar. DAY 03 : Drive Nyalam – Saga (4600m – 240 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs). O/nt at Guest House. DAY 04 Drive to Paryang (4750m - 255 Kms / 5-6 Hrs). O/nt at Htl Paryang. DAY 05 : Drive to Hor-Quo (4560m – 223 Kms / 5-6 Hrs ). Camp at the banks of Lake Manasarovar . DAY 06 : AM Lake Manasarovar Parikarma (4520m -115 Kms / 4-5 Hrs.) PM Drive to Darchen (4620m). O/nt at Guest House. DAY 07 : Trek to Serlung Monastery and to Nandi Parbat for an excellent view of Mount Kailash . The Group will stay at Darchen and make final preparation for the Kailash Parikarma. O/nt at Guest House. DAY 08 : Drive ahead of Tarboche – to the trek starting point of Kailash Parikarma (13 Kms) Trek to Dirapuk (4860m – 7 Kms) approx 5 – 6 Hrs. Trek . Camp . DAY 09 : Trek to Zuthul Puk (4760m – 18 Kms). approx 9-10 Hrs. Trek. Camp DAY 10 : End Kailash Kora (10 Kms) approx 3 - 4 Hrs Trek. Drive to Paryang (270 Kms / 6-7 Hrs.) O/nt at Htl Paryang . DAY 11 : Drive to Saga ( 255 Kms / 6-7 Hrs.) O/nt at Guest House. DAY 12 : Drive to Nyalam. (240 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs). O/nt at Htl Nyalam or similar DAY 13 : Drive downhill to Zhangmu and Friendship Bridge where transportation awaits for the final leg of journey to Kathmandu .

Typical Day

The typical day in trek start with morning 6 am wake up call. After that tea/ coffee and at 7 ready for the breakfast. We generally start our day at 8 am in the adventurous area of high hidden plateau - Tibet. 3/4 hrs later, ready for lunch and after lunch 2/3 hrs drive and finally to our destination for the day.This adventure is normally perfomed on the 4WD Toyota 4500 model landcruisers with the aid of English speaking Tibetan guide and Nepali sherpa support team.

Age range, type of group

This is ideal for all pilgrimages of age upto 60 who can prove themselves in the good health condition. Indian nationals with high determination of making it are welcome.Rest nationals who love to feel the adventures in their life too can easily make it. Its a tour for everybody as most of the time, you would be driving in the high plateau.

Sleeping and meals

All meals are included and accomodation are on the twin tents enroute on twin sharing basis. All meals are prepared by our experienced sherpa support team

Restrictions

Alcohol, smoking, stress is strictly restricted.Child below 12 and the adults above are 60 are suggested not to do this trek.
