Hervey Bay is the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island which is the largest sand island in the world. From River Heads in Hervey Bay the Ferry Crossing to the Island takes approximately 30 minutes and arrives at Wanggoolba Creek on the east coast. From here you travel North and experience such wonders as Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby and Indian Head.
Hervey Bay, famous also for its WHALE WATCHING (July-October) is often described as an "aquatic playground" with tours departing daily offering guaranteed sightings.

Nomads Hervey Bay backpackers is located on The Esplanade directly across the road from Torquay Beach. Guests can access shops, banks, post office and restaurants all within walking distance of the resort.
The accommodation at Nomads Hervey Bay is surrounded by tropical gardens overlooking the pool. Budget accommodation is available with dorm share, twin share and double rooms.
