Achmelvich Beach Youth Hostel

Achmelvich Beach is a small and remote rustic hostel in wonderful surroundings, just a short walk to a legendary white sandy beach (listed in the Good Beach Guide).

The former school building and cottage have been tastefully transformed into a 35-bed hostel, with rooms of various sizes including one family dorm-room. One shower is available. Also offers a self-catering kitchen with 3 hobs, fridge, oven, microwave etc.
a 'Wee breakfast' is available at £3.50

There is an abundance of wildlife to watch, unrivalled coastal walks and a pace of life that relaxes and unwinds. Unforgettable sunsets practically guaranteed.

By Car:

From Ullapool; take the A835 northwards, left (Ledmore Junction) on the A837 and then just before Lochinver turn right to the B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs. Drive all the way around to the Beach Car Park.

From Lochinver; YH is 4 miles NW of Lochinver... Up the hill and turn left onto the B869 for 2 miles and then left for 1 mile following the YH signs. Drive all the way around to the Beach Car Park.


On Foot:

From Lochinver - take the Baddidarrach footpath to Achmelvich Beach. Spectacular views, 1 to 1.5 hour, approx 3.5 miles. Not suitable for a trolley bag or suitcase!
