Welcome to our STF/HI Hostel on Kvarntorget Square!

Location:
We are located a 10 minute walk from the city centre in which you will find the biggest Cathedral in northern Europe dating back to the 13th century and our Castle from the 16th century. Uppsala is a tranquil daytime alternative to the Capital Stockholm, with a delightful river-cut centre, and an active student-geared nightlife.
The hostel is located at walking distance from the bus- and railway station, from which you can reach Stockholm Arlanda international airport in 18 minutes and Stockholm in 40 minutes. The hostel is also easy to reach by car and there is free parking in the area.

Facility:
Our bright and spacious Winter garden is the largest Hostel lobby in Uppsala. A natural meeting point where to enjoy the Happy Hour free coffee, a magazine or play some billiards.
We have 44 rooms in different sizes and shapes. From dormitories to private rooms with shower, wc and TV in the room. Some of the rooms have windows facing the winter garden and some are facing Kvarntorget Square. All our rooms have free WiFi soon to be upgraded from 24 Mbit/s to 100 Mbit/s. Some rooms are also suitable for wheelchair users. The whole facility is non smoking area.

There is one very good Restaurant in the building, Restaurant Kvarntorget. Within a 5 minute walk you find plenty of other Restaurants and Pubs. If you prefer to prepare your own meals, there is a fully equipped common kitchen in the hotel. There is also a common washing machine and tumble dryer available. Washing powder can be bought in the reception. In the same building as the hotel you will also find a convenience store, hairdressers, face- and body therapist and masseur.
At the Front desk we offer Concierge service with suggestions what to experience in Uppsala.
Check in:
Our Front desk is open 24 hrs. Saturdays and Sundays limited opening hrs apply. Access to your room is guaranteed from 3 pm. Check in outside of opening hours is easily arranged, by contacting us 1-2 days before your arrival. We give you 24 hrs phone service +46 (0) 18 24 20 08.

Check-in and keys to be picked up from our Bed & Breakfast location south of the apartments. ( Depending on what apartment you have booked, the map above may indicate the location of the apartment and not necessarily where our reception at Tärnaby B&B is, for key pick up )
When you pick up the key, we can give you a map, or possibly drive you to the apartment.


Tarnaby is located in Swedish Lapland about 900 km's North of Stockholm. 350 km North of University City of Ume'. 120 km's south of Norwegian city of Mo i Rana with the Norwegian border only 45 km's west. Only 80km south of The Arctic Circle ! Hemavan-T'rnaby Airport is only 17 km's way with 6 flights a week from Stockholm Arlanda. (www.skyways.se )

Our reception at our Bed & Breakfast is situated about 500 metres south from the village shops, 400 metres from the Tourist information office and 700 metres from the bus station/post office. We have a guest mini-bus to pick you up from the bus station.
