Description of Surrounding Area

For your visits, Alain and Claudy, keen on regional history and tourist attractions, will take pleasure in advising you on short or long trips. If you enjoy sports or shopping, the proximity of the Charente river (5 kms), the towns of Saintes (15 kms) and Cognac (12 kms), offer a varied choice. Romanesque churches, distilleries, castles, golf courses... Between Angouleme (45 mn) and Royan (45 mn).

Description of Accommodations

In the house , you will find lots of books, games, guides and tourist leaflets, which you can consult in the living room reserved for the guests. A fridge and a microwave oven is there for you.
Less then 1 km from the village of Chérac, situated between Cognac and Saintes in "Le Puits Des Brousses" you will enjoy the quiet countryside, and appreciate the garden and its picnic table with its picturesque view of the Borderie vineyards, which are well known for the production of Cognac.

Description of Rooms/Suites

We reserve two bedrooms for our guests: Borderie, on the theme of vine and the Marine, on the theme of ocean.
Borderie is on the ground floor and has an independent entrance. Large and comfortable, there is a double bed (140x190) and the possibility of adding a single bed (90x190) and a private bathroom with a bath with shower and a separate WC.
Marine is on the first floor. Very large, it is ideal for families (4 persons). There is a double bed (140 x 190) and two single beds ( 90 x 190 ), and a private bathroom with shower and separate WC.

Amenities

For your meals, there are nice and romantic restaurants or country inns. You can also ask your hosts to prepare picnic baskets for days out in the countryside (Eur 7) or a simple family meal in the evening some days on request (Eur 15)

Services Offered

You will be welcome with a home made drink. A generous continental breakfast, with homemade pastries and jams, will be served to you in the dining room or on the terrace. It is included in the prices. We have a bed and a chair for babies.

Directions

If you arrive by the A10 motorway, take exit n°35 to SAINTES. The village of CHERAC is located 15 kms east of SAINTES and 12 kms west of COGNAC. Follow the RN 141, which connects these two towns, exiting and following the signs for CHERAC. In the centre of the village, follow the sign to BURIE. Turn left before the cemetery, direction CHEZ BRANGER. A little further on, turn right onto the ROUTE DES GROIES, the sign ROUTE DU PUITS DES BROUSSES is just on the gate of our house on the junction of the road. HAVE A PLEASANT TRIP AND SEE YOU SOON!
