- Hostal Doña Esther is a small, colonial style hotel in the center of Otavalo, near the Saturday Market. We have 12 nicely decorated rooms and 1 penthouse. All rooms have private bathrooms and are situated around a lovely inner court yard.

Description of Surrounding Area
Otavalo is situated in a valley of Imbabura province, surrounded by Vulcanoes Imbabura, Cotacachi and Fuya Fuya. The province is famous for it's lakes: Laguna San Pablo, Lago Cuicocha, Lagunas Mojanda y Lago Yahuarcocha, which you can all easily visit on a day trip. In town of course there is the famous Saturday market (which is a every day market, only Saturday is larger). Outside town you can visit the villages where the weavers live and see them work; go hiking or horse riding in the hills around Otavalo and visit the Parque Cóndor - a rescue center for raptor birds - or the Peguche waterfall. In weekends you'll find some nightlife in the local peña-bars, where local indian music is combined with a night out. During the week and in weekends you can enjoy yourself in the evening in one of Otavalo's restaurants.
Description of Accommodations
Rebuilt in '96, this has been a hotel for over a hundred years. The style of the hotel is colonial, with an inner courtyard full of plants and lots of wood used in the construction.
Inside you'll also find our cosy restaurant, fit for a night out (closed on mondays).
Description of Rooms/Suites
The rooms are nicely decorated with wooden floors and beds, rustic style. Our bathrooms are all private, the showers with great pressure and very hot water, the matresses excellent. Heating not availabe, since this is still a luxury in Ecuador, but we do provide extra blankets.
