The farmhouse is in the beautiful heart of the Umbria valley, Italy, sourronded by 10 hectares of olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees. Six independent apartments have been restored around the ancient stone house, which go back to 17th century. It is only 4km far from the historic centre of Perugia and offers a suggestive view of the Umbrian hills

The proximity to Perugia, makes the holidays farm's position ideal for visiting other artistic towns in Umbria, such as Assisi , Gubbio , Todi , Orvieto and the Trasimeno lake.

Vacation Rental Property

The country farm"la volpe e l'uva" is an agricultural farm in the heart of the Umbria region. On 2000, the farm became property of our family and we started a process of restoration of the building and agrarian patrimony with particular care to the wine and olive oil area.The farmhouse is composed by five independent apartments recently restored: Paulownia, Rocco, Oca, Fico, Riding (bilo-apartments) and Chiocciola (mono-apartment).

The apartments have gardens, swimming pool, play area for children, open barbecue. The apartments are simply furnished, offering a comfortable stay in the countryside at a working farm. The farm is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and which house the production center of the farm's products.

The farmhouse apartments are all perfectly restored, each one with private entrance and common garden. Inside they are tastefully furnished with TV and their single unit heating system.

The historic center of Perugia is only 4 km away from the farm. Here, you'll find good restaurants, pubs, shops and supermarkets. Assisi is just 15, Gubbio 28km; Assisi and Spello 15km; Trasimeno Lake 20km; Todi and Orvieto, 45km.

The farm produces and sells wine, olive oil, jams, fruit syrups and dried fruit.

The farmhouse is at north of Perugia, just outside of the ancient medioeval walls. In this direction there are not outskirts, so you can go directly from the historic centre of Perugia to the country side. It is in a hilly position, very near to the main Umbrian localities (Gubbio 28km; Assisi and Spello 15km; Trasimeno Lake 20km; Todi and Orvieto, 45km).

During Summer - (1/06-30/09) - rental is on weekly basis, from Saturdayto Saturday; check in after three o’clock p.m. and check out before ten o’clock a.m.; during other times of the year minimum stay is two nights.

Other Information

Our farm produces an high quality extra virgin olive oil. The old farm tools have given way to advanced techniques while losing nothing of the traditional art of olive oil production. These modern tools respect and safeguard all the natural characteristics of the freshly harvested olive and prevent any alteration from occurring during the production process.
The olives are picked manually from the trees and carried to the press within 48 hours.
The oil is extracted with cold working (without chemical solvents). It has a fresh flavor, a very fruity, spicy, intense and savory olive oil characterized by sweet and bitter features.
Olive oil is the principal source of fat in the Mediterranean diet. It is mainly used for dressing dishes, and its nutritional qualities seem to be responsible for decreasing cancer and cardiovascular diseases in populations who use it in preference to other dressings rich in saturated fats, both of animal and vegetable origin.
Our farm produces also a good red wine from "sangiovese" and "montepulciano" grapes and jams.
