A trip through the Crete Senesi means putting your energies back into equilibrium.
A trip to the Crete Senesi has the flavour of a daydream with your feet placed firmly on the ground, because “anatomically” they are the impalpable soul of a fascinating body, sometimes expressed in the sculpted forms of a Greek statue, sometimes in the curves of a tempting siren.
The Crete Senesi, then, as a voyage of the soul, an itinerary of discovery to be followed in the same spirit as the Grand Tour, without seeking destinations that are as mystical as they are useless. Sailing through the earth waves of the Crete Senesi, each of us finds places that “speak” with the breath of the wind and the magic of unpredictable lights.
There are no icons such as piazzas, cathedrals or castles that identify this territory. Only intimate corners like that cypress, that old smallholding, the curve of that dirt road, the window of that bed & breakfast. Or moments linked to powerful sensations such as the smell of sheep’s-milk cheese pervading a little grocery, the relaxing warmth of spa waters, the mystical simplicity of a small Romanesque parish church.
The landscape of the Crete Senesi is a triumph of essentialness and harmony, a timeless image, a picture that blends the forms of an Etruscan graffito and a sign of modern art. It is a harmony that gets inside you and has the power to bring your energies back into balance: emotions and sensations transform and dilate in the calm of space.
Vacation Rental Property
Tired of city life, in 1996 we decided to live in the hearth of Crete Senesi. Immediately we have fallen in love with Molinello, with its Etruscan origins (and the nearby tumulus), its medieval mill (whose ruins are still visible nowadays), its age-old oak trees, and with the peacefullness and quietness that surround it. We have decided to share all this with our guests.
We live in a wing of the farm and we will be glad to offer our guests: swimming pool, green area, playground, washing-machine, wood oven, barbecue, mountain bike hire, organic vegetables and fruit of their own production…and their availability. We organize once a week a wine tasting course to explore the main tuscan DOC and DOCG and a cooking lesson. We usually propose our guests a weekly activities programme. Our winery is at guests’ disposal to relax and to taste a good glass of wine. We will propose you a weekly activities programme to discover the coulours and the tastes of crete senesi region and a free guided tour of Siena together with an official AGT Guide. We also organise guided bike tours and wine tours.
At the Spas of Rapolano it is possible to take mud bath treatment, inhalations (from april to nevember), phisycal therapy, beauty treatment, massages (all year round). In summer the thermal swimming pools (which are open also nightly) are excellent to relax and for the wellbeing of body.
By request it is possible to visit the contiguous etruscan tomb “Tumulo del Molinello”, a particular travertine grave, which, with the others in the area, constitutes an interesting attraction.
