Program: HUNZA - BATURA TREK AND TOUR TO THE VALLEY:
This program allows you to discover the regions of North Pakistan in different dimensions. It is also an opportunity to meet the local people, touch their culture and warm hospitality with simple way of life and gives unique experience by sightseeing of towns with different tribes and wonderful nature where the Himalayas, the Karakuram and the Hindu-Kush ranges meet together. Also mix up with local population of roof of the world.
The highlight of this trip is TREKKING on BUTURA GLACIER and explores the HUNZA VALLEY, which comprises of number of villages; Karimabad is the capital of ancient kingdom of Hunza Valley is like stage setting. The attractive Valley is encircled with mountains as Ulter Peak 7238 m, Rakaposhi 7788 m, Diran Peak 7256 m and Golden Peak 7027 m, undoubtedly the most prominent and well known mountains in Gilgit/Hunza area. Hunzakuts are famed for long longevity, some to over 100 years. Until 1974 Hunza was an independent kingdom, greatly isolated from the rest of the world until the completion of the Karakuram Highway to CHINA in 1978. The people of Hunza are Islimies follower of Aga Khan and as known open-minded, progressive and well integraded with the change of modern society such as the female education are considered to be more important.
We will travel on the Karakuram Highway, 8th wondrous of the world, also called the Silk Route, on the footstep of Marco-polo. The Karakuram Highway leads to China via Khunjerab Pass 4733 m, opened in 1982. It is the world highest paved boarder crossing. This is modern wonder of the world, 900 km in length with its end trail into China also known as a friendship Highway between China and Pakistan.

HUNZA-BUTRA TREK:
The Batura trek is the most accessible of giant Karakuram Glaciers from Karakuram Highway. It stretches west about 65km with more than 10 peaks above 7000 m. This trek is an easy stroll along a flower-filled gully between the lateral moraine of the Batura Glacier and the mountains. It is one of the finest in the Karakuram with beautiful landscape and no major difficulties. Most of the trek is through ablation valley along streams, with almost no steep sections. The mountain views of Batura, Passu and Shispar Peak superb. The Passu women who spend the summer in the pastureland beside the glacier are friendly to female trekkers. Spending time with Passu people and their yaks in the patsure allows a glimpse into their unique way of montain life. The views of six Batura Peaks and the huge ice-fall from them to the glacier below are among the more remarkable mountain scenes in the Karakuram.

ITINERARY:

Day-01: Arrival to Islamabad airport and transfer to hotel, in the rest time of sightseeing in Islamabad and Rawalpini, visit of largest mosque in Asia and old local Bazaar
Day-02: Drive to Chilas (11-12hrs) on the Karakuram Highway, overnight at hotel in Chilas, view of Nanga Parbat 8125 m if the weather is clean for a good visiblity.
Day-03: Continue to Karimabad via Gilgit 6-7hrs lunch at Gilgit on the way to Karimabad, a very closed view of Rakaposhi 7788m from Karakuram Highway, visit to the Karimabad village, mix up with local people. Overnight at hotel
Day-04: The visit of historical Baltit Fort 700 years ago on the moraines of Ultar Glacier towering over the town of Karimabad facing the Rakaposhi Peak, which has been restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture with help of a French architecture. This Fort truly represents the socio-cultural, political and economic dynamism of former princely state.
Aslo visit to the Altit Village, the Altit Fort is older than Baltit Fort, which is more impressive but needed to be restored. There is beautiful view of Hunza River and Ultar Peak. From the roof of Fort, the houses of local inhabitant can be seen closely.
Day-05: Then drive to Passu (2400m) 2 hrs drives, on the way to Passu visit Ganish sacred inscriptions of the Budhist Moinks who travelled on Silk Route in 4th century, visit of Gulmit local Museum, lunch at Pussu and prepartion of the trek for next day. Overnight at hotel
Day-06: Trek 4-5 hrs to Yunzben,/camp
Day-07: Easy trek of one hour on the glacier and 3-4 hrs treks to the Ujhopirt 2900m/camp
Day-08: Trek 3-4 hrs to Yashprit 3100m, there is summer huts of the Passu people, staying during the summer with their cattles/camp
Day-09: 4-5 hrs treks to Fatmahill 3270m, a fancinating view of Batura Peak 7740 with thunder avalanches in the benging of the summer/camp
Day-10: Trek 3-4 hrs to Guchesham 3400m, is the highest summer settlement of sheperds, mostly best pasture for yaks and local exploration, meet with local shepherds and taste the local cheese and yacurt, easy contact with the local people and another option is go higher up to the 4000m
Day-11: Trek back to the Ujhokpin/camp
Day-12: Trek to the Passu and continue to Karimabad/hotel
Day-13: Drive to Rakiot Bridge then jeep drive to Tato and 2 hrs trek to Fairy Meadow, overnight in the tent
Day-14: Drives to Besham. Travel on Karakorum Highway alon with Indus Riverupto Besham, Indus is the third longest river in Asia, the source of Indus is Mont Kalash in Ladakh and flow the gorges of Karakorum and plains of Punjab and finally falls in the Arabian Sea
Day-15: Continue to Islamabad 6-7 hrs, overnight at Islamabad
Day-16: Departure from Islamabad, drop to the airport

HINDU-KUSH TO KARAKORAM
(Chillinji Pass Trek- along the Afghanistan corridor to Hunza Valley)


TREKING INFORMATION:

This trek is located in the restricted zone and we required trekking permit from the Ministry of Tourism in Islamabad, briefing in the banging and de- briefing at the end of the trek. We need two passport size photos and particulars of each trekker before their arrival to Islamabad to obtain the trekking permit.

Your arrival to Islamabad should be in the morning, and then we will be able to arrange the briefing at the same day of arrival. We start from Islamabad (5-6) hrs drive to Swat in the way visit the Taket- Bahi, the Buddhist Montasry, then drive 8-9hrs to Chitral town. One day will be free for sightseeing in the town or excursion to Kalash valley. Then next day jeep drives to Mastuji about 4-5 hrs then next day to Lasht Village. The Next day trek will start to the Chillinji Pass then to Chaporsan Valley in the north of Hunza. If you would like to trek to the BOROGHIL PASS (3800m) border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, you will camp at the Chilma Rabot before the Karumber Ann and next day you will make excursion to Boroghil Pass to look the Wakhan Corridor.

During this trek the porter uses their donkeys, horses and yakes for the loads up to the Sokhtherabad (near the Highcamp of Chilliji Pass). To cross the Pass with animals is very difficult, so the porters carry themselves for ahead camps. The clients can ride on the horse up to Sokhtherabad if they wish to, its possible to hire the horses on rent in Boroghil Valley. For this trek we have to change the porters twoice from different villages.

DIFFICULTY:
To cross the Chillinji Pass we required good weather condition, on the Chupursan side of the Pass normally remains snow and on Chitral side dry. Some time we get much snow, however it would be better that members should take crampons and ice axe also the Harness if possible, all these are just for safety and we are providing the rope. It is considers to very easy trek up to the Chillanji Pass.

ITINERARY:

Day-01 Arrival to Islamabad airport and transfer to the hotel, after noon briefing at the Ministry of Tourism. Overnight at the hotel
Day-02 Drive to the Swat Valley about 5-6 hrs drive, in the way visit to Taket-Bhai, the Buddhist Monastry
Day-03 Continue to the Chitral about 8-9 hrs drive
Day-04 Sightseeing of Chitral Twon or excursion to the Kalash Valley and back to Chitral for overnight
Day-05 Drive to Mustuj overnight at hotel
Day-06 Drive to Lasht, the last village by jeep overnight in camp
Day-07 Trek from Lasht to Kishmanja (3200m) 6-7 hrs/camp
Day-08 Trek from Kishmanja to Chilma Robat 5-6-hrs 16km delightful Lutgaz (3048m) big grass in Khowar, wth its abundant springs and splendid view of the shotor (caml) Glacier across the wide Yarkhun River, is the trek’s staging ground . And after continue to Kishmanja beyond , skirt a scree slope at the rivers edge and reach the wakhi settlement of Kishmanja (3300m) over night at camp.
Day-09 Trek to Shuworsheet 5-hrs 3690m /camp
Day-10 Trek to Karumbar Ann then to Lake (4300m) 4 -5-hrs/camp
Day-11 Day free to local explore
Day-12 Trek Karumbar Lake to Shunji 4-5 hrs/camp
Day-13 Trek Shunji to Sokhtherabad 5-6hrs/camp
Day-14 Trek to Jangal (4650m), foot of Chillinji Pass (4-5 hrs)
Day-15 Trek to Chillinji High Camp 4-5hrs/camp
Day-16 Trek High camp to climb Chilliji Pass (5291m and continue to Biater 5-6 hrs/camp
Day-17 Trek Biater to Ziarat (3660m) Chaporsan-Hunza 6-hrs/camp
Day-18 Drive to Sost (3-4 hrs) and continue to Passu, overnight in the hotel
Day-19 Free day to visit village and hike to Passu Glacier overnight at hotel
Day-20 Morning visit to Khuramabad by foot bridge over Hunza river then lunch at Gulmit and proceed to Karimabad overnight at hotel
Day-21 Visit to Baltit Fort and Bazzar then drive to Duikar village highest point of Hunza valley overnight at hotel
Day-22 Visit to Hoper valley and back to Karimabad for overnight
Day-23 Drive to Riakot Brige and then jeep drive to Tato and walk to Fairy Meadow over night at tent
Day-24 Trek Beyal overnight in camp
Day-25 Trek to base camp and back to Fairy Meadow overnight in tent
Day-26 Trek to back to Tato and then jeep to Riakot Brige and then continue to Besham overnight at hotel
Day-27 Drive to Islamabad overnight at hotel
Day-28 De-briefing at the Ministry of Tourism, overnight at hotel
Day-29 Fly to homeland (drop to the airport)

Day -09 Trek 6–7 hrs to Goro-II (4300m)/camp
Day -10 Trek 5–6 hrs to Concordia (4700m)/camp
Day -11 Excursion to K-2 Base Camp (5135m)and back to Concordia for overnight
Day-12 Trek 5–6 hrs on Vinge Glacier to Ali- Camp 4800m
Day-13 Early morning start the trek to the Pass 5700m, 5–6 hrs, steep descend 3–4 hrs to High Camp (4800m) on the other side then continue to Gondoghoro Base Camp (Xhuspang 4680m)
Day-14 Option to climb Gondohgoro Peak or rest day
Day-15 Trek to Dalzapa 4-5 hrs and camp at 4150m
Day -16 5-7 hrs trek to Saticho 3200m/camp
Day -17 Trek 3-4 hrs to Hushe 3050m/camp.
