Description

For some travellers, the journey is more important than the destination and who you meet is just as important as what you see. Cayo Backpacker Hostel was created for this type of traveller. Our Cayo Backpackers Hostel is small, friendly and welcoming.

Cayo Back Packers Hostel is located on the second floor at #75 Bullet Tree Road, San Ignacio Town only a 15 minute walk from the town center. From the bus terminal walk up Waight’s Avenue which turns into Bullet Tree road. You will pass Martha’s kitchen, the Sacred Heart School and Huang’s Grocery. Continue just a bit further and you will see a green grocery store (Tams Supermarket) on your right and Tillets Esso gas station on your left. We are on the right hand side across from the Esso. If you prefer to take a taxi from the bus station it will only cost $5 BZE, refundable upon arrival on the first day.

Cayo Backpackers Hostel offers dorm-style accommodations with four bunk beds (sleeps eight) and a shared bath for those that are budget minded for $20 BZE per person. There are three private rooms with double beds for those that would like more privacy - the private rooms share one bath for $35 BZE. We offer clean comfortable beds, hot water, a lounge and a kitchen where you can cook your own meals (the grocery store is just next door). We have friendly service and tours can be arranged to all tourist areas. All tour companies will pick you up at our door.

We have two verandas that have a beautiful view of San Ignacio Town and the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins which was one of the most important Mayan Centers in the Maya world. Our location offers easy access to any tourist attraction within the Cayo District or anywhere in Belize.
