Hostel Portunhol

we're two brazilians and one chilean, with huge experience in different hostels and backpacking. together we form the portunhol family.
the house portunhol has shared dorms and double rooms in different sizes, with kitchen and bathrooms shared. we also have a lounge area with internet(wi-fi), cable tv, dvd's and music, pool table and our cozy bar with delicious caipirinhas. to relax we've got a wide outdoor area with many trees.
with a direct exit to the beach, we are 2 minutes from the seaside of barra da lagoa. perfect to practice and learn surf, and for swimmers. very near are beaches as moçambique, mole and joaquina. lagoa da conceição has the best night life in the island, with many clubs, pubs and great restaurants.

Directions

To get here from the bus station (Rodoviaria Rita Maria), walk 3 blocks to the right to Centro Bus Terminal(Ticen). At first get the 320 or 330, up to Lagoa Bus Terminal(Tilag) in Lagoa da Conceiçao. Then get the 360 up to Barra da Lagoa, stop 'Parada Escola'. Bus fair = R$2.95. Change bus inside the Terminals for free, pay just the first one. When you get to 'Parada Escola' bus stop walk ahead, don't take the main road that goes right, use the secondary one that goes ahead. Then you turn right after the Surf Shop 'Bazar do Surf'. And follow the sign.
By taxi from downtown Florianopolis to the Hostel: R$50,00 from the Bus Station and R$60,00 from the airport. Ask for Barra da Lagoa, Hostel Portunhol.
