Welcome to Hostelling International - Nordegg, Shunda Creek! Certainly one of Alberta's best-kept secrets, HI-Nordegg, Shunda Creek Hostel is a favourite for hikers, mountain bikers and climbers.

Located in the heart of David Thompson Country, this four-season destination provides the perfect setting for individuals, groups, and families seeking exceptional recreation opportunities. Guests can even try ice climbing on the 'ice wall' in winter, created by the staff of the hostel.

We have many facilities including a BBQ area, hot tub, common room and guest kitchen.

Rates are quoted for members of Hostelling International. if you are not a ,member you will be charged and additional $4.00 per person when you arrive at the front desk.

From Edmonton:
South on Hwy 2 until the Lacombe turn off Hwy 12
West on Hwy 12 until you come to Hwy 22
South on Hwy 22 until you come to Hwy 11
West on Hwy 11 until you come to Nordegg
The hostel is just west of Nordegg, 3 km north of Highway 11 on the Shunda Creek Recreation Area Road. Keep left at the fork in the road.

From Calgary:
North on Hwy 2 until you come to Hwy 11
West on Hwy 11 until you come to Nordegg

The hostel is not serviced by public transit (except the Rocky Express Tour in summer). The closest Greyhound bus station is at Rocky Mountain House (110km East of hostel)
