St Christopher's Hammersmith

The Hammersmith Hostel in London is easy to get to from Heathrow Airport - a short trip away on the London Underground Piccadilly line - and it's surrounded by buzzing a hive of activity. From Hammersmith there are links to everywhere in London and thereâ€Â™s a direct London Underground connection to the Victoria train and coach station.

In fact, guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to transport options - with not one but four tube lines, the nearby Kensington-Olympia over-ground railway station and one of the biggest bus stations in London located just over the road. There are also lots of night buses which go in and out of this station, so staying out late in London is not a problem!

Youâ€Â™ll find St Christopher's and Belushi's on Hammersmith Broadway - a five-minute walk away from the Hammersmith Apollo, one of the greatest live music and comedy venues in London. The Apollo has played host to the mighty Beatles and Black Sabbath, and today it still attracts some of the biggest acts around, including Bjork and Sheryl Crow.

Also nearby are some beautiful scenic river walks along the Thames and the lovely Kensington Park Gardens, and Hyde Park. If itâ€Â™s shopping youâ€Â™re after then Harrods is easy to get to from Hammersmith as is the Westfield Shopping Centre - one of the biggest shopping malls in the northern hemisphere! The hostel is also only a twenty-minute journey from central London and the shopping fun on Oxford Street.

Directions

London Heathrow Airport (LHR): Approximate driving time to the Normandie Hotel is 40 minutes and distance is 14 miles (22 kilometres).

Getting there: The Heathrow Express train service to London Paddington Station (200 metres from the hotel) leaves every 15 minutes. The airport is also on the Underground�s Piccadilly Line, which takes passengers into Knightsbridge, Green Park, Leicester Square and King's Cross stations. London's black taxi cabs also service Heathrow Airport and cost �40�50 to Central London. Bus services include the Airbus Heathrow shuttle to London Victoria or King's Cross railway stations.

Getting around: The easiest way to get around London is by using the Underground (metro) or bus services. Alternatively, black taxi cabs can be hailed in the street.
