Forty minutes from Avignon, there is a stone village that sits on a hill surrounded by vineyards and orchards. This small village of Vers, built of stone in France profunde, is where your adventure begins. Walk from the village along the Roman ruins....
Please note that Hotel Chez Tony is not in the city centre of Toulouse itself and you will have to take some form of transport to reach us. Do not book my hotel expecting to be able to walk into town and then give me poor feedback with regard to location as I feel that this is unfair.
There are 2 restaurants with bar next door serving three course traditional French meals from only 11,00 euros, and that includes wine! There is also another with an all you can eat buffet with wine dessert and cheese for 12 euros 2 minutes away. (Closed Saturday night and all day Sunday) A new restaurant has just opened next to the hotel and it 's opened monday through saturday evening. The hotel is only a 10 to 15 minute drive in the car from downtown Toulouse (or a 20 minute bus-ride) and are located near to a bus-stop.
All the rooms are en-suite, the majority with both bath and shower- just a couple have showers only. Single rooms all contain a double bed. Twin rooms contain one double bed and one single bed for two people sharing. Triple rooms contain one double bed and one single bed for three people sharing, although I can offer another single bed or z bed in room provided you let me know beforehand. This is a hotel and not a property, therefore all the rooms are private and not shared with other parties!
Please note that I have a lady, Alice, who lives in at the hotel but she is unable to speak English. So if you do arrive late, without knowing your room number, please realize that you are in France and not everyone speaks English here, thankfully I do!!
Please indicate time of arrival, either indicating AM or PM or in 24 hour clock, in particular for weekend arrivals, as the reception is not manned all the time. Thank you.
Check is normally after 12pm.
Check out is 11am.
If the key to the room is not returned to us within a week I will have to charge 25 euros.
Please ask me for maps and information of Toulouse and we will do our best to arm you with information in order for you to enjoy your stay in 'La Vie en Rose - The pink city. Nearby is Lake Sesquieres, which is 15 minutes on foot from the hotel, for water skiing in the summer c 8euros as well as pleasant walks here, along with the canal du midi, and by the lake, there is also a very large disco as well that holds about 3000 people, so you can invite your friends.
Please indicate time of arrival, in particular for arrivals at the weekend and national holidays, as the reception is not manned all the time.
Please note that unfortunately the 15 bus doesn't run on a sunday so you will have to take the metro to La Vache and then take the No 59 at the bus terminus to Glaciere.
For those arriving at the train station (Gare Matabiau) take one stop on Line A of the metro to Jean Jaures and then take line B to the station La Vache then take the bus 59 and get off at the stop La Glaciere, then take the first street on you right.
Or you can go to the Place Jeanne D'Arc ( 5 minuts walking distance from the train station) and take the bus 15 and get off at the stop La Glaciere.
If you come with the bus check the timetable on:
tisseo.fr (bus 59 and 15) and also the metro A and B.
Taxis to and from the hotel to the centre of Toulouse are between 15 and 20 Euros but it is advisable to ask them before you take one. After 21:00 they are more expensive.
Please give me feedback as to whether the directions were good or not, as otherwise I am unable to correct them.
Check on mappy.fr if you come by car.
The address of the hotel is: 75 rue de la glacière 31200 Toulouse
The reception is unmanned, at certain times, over Saturday and Sunday. Please let us know your time of arrival at the hotel. As a last resort we can leave your key in your room.
