Bonn-Venusberg Youth Hostel is the ideal starting point for all sightseeing and excursions. Secondary schools, companies with trainees, clubs and organisations will appreciate the easy-going atmosphere at the hostel. Bonn-Venusberg Youth hostel offers all modern comforts to guests. The light and generously-proportioned sleeping quarters create a friendly atmosphere.

All rooms have their own shower and toilet. The modern bistro and large patio are interesting meeting points for talking and relaxing. All areas and facilities of the hostel are suitable for handicapped people.

Youth Hostel Membership Card: To use our hostels, you need a membership card issued by the youth hostel association of your home country. Please contact your national office. Your national membership card is valid for local and international travel if your country is a full member of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). If your country is not a full member of the IYHF or you have been living in your country of residence for less than 12 months, you can buy a Hostelling International 'Welcome Stamp'. This enables you to use the hostel facilities - you can purchase one stamp each night (EUR 3,10 per stamp) you stay in a hostel, or purchase all six stamps at once (EUR 18,60). With six stamps, your card is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
Information for families: Both parents will need an individual Hostelling International Card. Any child in that family under 18 years will be covered by the parent's Hostelling International Card.
If you have lost or forgotten your national membership card and have to buy a Hostelling International Card no refund is possible according to the IYHF guidelines.

Directions

The youth hostel is located on the Venusberg on the edge of the Kottenforst Nature Reserve. In spite of its quiet location, it offers excellent road and public transport connections to the Bonn city centre approximately 2 miles away.

Arrival by public transport:
- Opposite the Main Railway Station is the Central Bus Station. From here take bus no. 600 from platform A2 to Ippendorf and get off at 'Jugendherberge' stop.

Arrival from Cologne-Bonn Airport:
- From Terminal 2 take bus no. SB60 to Bonn Main Railway Station (arriving at Bonn Central Bus Terminal ZOB). Travelling time: approx. 30 minutes.

From Bonn Main Railway Station continue as under 'By public transport'.


Arrival by coach from north, south or east:
- A3 to Bonn­Siegburg motorway intersection
- take A560 in the direction of Bonn as far as Sankt Augustin three-way junction
- take to A565 in the direction of Bonn/ Koblenz as far as Bonn­Hardtberg exit
- turn left after the exit and go downhill as far as the lights, there turn right (Provinzialstraße) and follow the road (Reichsstraße)
- at the edge of suburb Röttgen turn left into Röttgener Str.
- follow the road to the first street coming in from the right turn right there and immediately right again at a sharp angle into Gudenauer Weg. Caution: speed limit 30 km/h
- follow Gudenauer Weg to Spreestraße intersection
- turn second left into Spreestraße
- at the end of Spreestraße turn left into Haager Weg
- after approx. 800 m the youth hostel is on your left

From the north, south or east:
- A3 to Bonn­Siegburg motorway intersection - take A560 in the direction of Bonn as far as Sankt Augustin three-way junction - take to A565 in the direction of Bonn/ Koblenz as far as Bonn­Poppelsdorf exit - after Poppelsdorf exit turn right (Jagdweg). Caution: speed limit 30 km/h - then follows the signs 'Jugendherberge' Arrival from Cologne:
- At Kölner Ring take A555 as far as Bonn­Nord motorway intersection
- take A565 in the direction Bonn/ Koblenz
- continue as under coach or car from the north, south or east

Arrival from the west:
- A61 as far as Meckenheim motorway intersection
- change to A565 in the direction of Bonn/ Koblenz as far as Bonn­Hardtberg exit
- turn left after the exit and go downhill as far as the lights, turn right at the lights (Provinzialstraße) and follow the road (Reichsstraße)
- at the edge of suburb Röttgen turn left into Röttgener Str.
- follow the road to the first street coming in from the right, turn right there and immediately right again at a sharp angle into Gudenauer Weg. Caution: speed limit 30 km/h
- follow Gudenauer Weg to Spreestraße intersection
