Experience Olympus\'s unique hostel on the beach....SUMMIT ZERO!!
Summit Zero Hostel is the ideal place to stay when you want to combine the sea & the mountains. Its serene location is the perfect getaway, whether you want to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area, or indulge in adventure activities. We aim to provide an informal, friendly, family setup (of both Greek and English origin), whereby we hope to cater to all your needs.
The hostel is situated in an area called Gritsa, right on the beach, overlooking the small harbour of Litohoro, with Mt. Olympus as its spectacular backdrop. Only 1 hour from Thessaloniki\'s international airport, it\'s the ideal location for those embarking on a trip up Olympus, or simply for those searching for basic, lively, very reasonable, family-run accommodation in beautiful surroundings. The area\'s popularity stems from its unique diversity. The coastline and beaches stretch for miles, lined with lively beach bars and remote isolated spots. The mountain also has an allure all of its own, attracting both trekkers and serious climbers. There are also many areas of historic and sightseeing interest, such as the ancient city of Dion and the museum of Vergina (both revealing aspects of the life and family of Alexander the Great), as well as the traditionally beautiful, ancient, mountain village of Pantelaimonas. These are just some of the highlights...
Directions
You can access the area very easily by bus, train or car. Nearest bus station is Litohoro station, however during summer months the bus stops only 5mins walk away from our hostel. A taxi from Litohoro square to Summit Zero costs around 11euros. Litohoro Train station is 5mins drive, and both trains from Thessaloniki and Athens (via Larissa) stop here. Next major train and bus station is in Katerini (15km). Our hostel is located near the port of Litohoro and right next to Dion Palace resort. Train info: www.trainose.gr Please feel free contacting us in advance to pick you up.
Directions to hostel from the train station on foot: Exit the train station building and walk to the left untill you reach main junction (10min). At the junction turn right towards the sea and at the end of the road (T junction) follow the road to the left for 2 Km. You will see some of our signs on the way. Walk under the bridge and you have arrived in Gritsa. Go right on the 'fork' junction and you will see the hostel with its distinctive wooden fence (total walk 45min.).
