Hostel Slyudyanka is situated at the south-east coast of the lake Baikal in town Sludyanka, ONLY 3 km far from Lake Baikal.
It is very convenient place to start your trip to East Sayan Mountains (Cherskogiy pick),
The circum-Baikal railroad,
Baikal�sk, Ulan-Ude and Irkutsk cities,
Utulik and Irkut rivers,
Tunkinskaya valley (Arshan, Zhemchug, Nilova Pustyn�, Shumakskie springs, Orlik, Volcano valley, Munku �Sardyk mountain)
Slyudyanka is located 110 km far from Irkutsk. Slyudyanka is situated conveniently at the crossing of tourist routes around the South Baikal region. In this town one may get interested in it's history and in it's sightseeing.
It takes thirty minutes by walk or five minutes by driving to get to the shore of Baikal (3 km). From Slyudyanka bus station you can leave for any direction to Irkutsk or Tunka Valley or to Baikalsk. In Slyudyanka there is the railway station built in 1905 and made of marble � the only marble station in the world. It takes twenty minutes by walk from the railway station to the hostel (2,5 km).
From the hostel one may have a look at the high mountains. The picturesque stream Slyudyanka flows to Baikal which beauty has been marked by investigators from the past, is five minutes by walk from the hostel. Twenty minutes walk from the hostel up to the stream will let you find a water stream flowing from the rock. It's water is used by the habitants because of its clearness.
It is absolutely necessary for you to tell us the exact time of your arrival in Sludyanka (BEFORE MIN 24 H).
If you wish, we can pick you up at the railway station. It costs 200 rubles.
You can make all year round trips, excursions around Sludyanka and Tunka regions as well as horse-riding. Trips by boats around Baikal are offered; nutrition, laundry, garage for cars and bikes are organized. You can also have an interpreter.

At the train station Irkutsk you should take a suburban train or minibuses "Irkutsk - Sludyanka". A suburban train goes to the train station; a minibus goes to the bus station. If you take a suburban train you should go through the pedestrian bridge and later go along streets to the bus station at Lenina Street. At the bus station you should take a minibus £ 1 going to the micro-district "Rudo". You should get to stop "Magazine £ 17". After that you should cross the road and go along by-street Rudnitchniy. Our hostel is the fourth two storey building at right side (on the cross with Shcolnaya Street).
