Emperador Carlos V Youth Hostel was inaugurated in October 1999, as part of a deal with the Universidad de Granada.

The Hostel accommodates students of both genres and has room for 392 individuals. The facilities are distributed into single rooms without kitchen facilities (192), double bedrooms without a kitchen (48),

University of Cartuja, along with the following Faculties ans Schools: Philosophy and Arts, Economic and Business Sciences, LADE, Tourism, Library Economics and Documentation, Dentristy and Dental Surgery, Psychology, Chemistry and Food Technology and Education Sciences and Physical. This Campus also accommodates the Andalusian Public Health School.
Communications with the different faculties located outside the Campus are good. Lines L20, C, L8 and U connect the hostel with the Campus of Fuentenueva and the city centre.
On the Fuentenueva Campus, one finds the Faculties of Sciences and Technical Architecture. Near to this Campus we find the Faculties of Politics and Sociology, Labour Relations and Social Work and in Avda. Madrid that of Medicine and the University School of Health Sciences.
