Located on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park, the park’s main entrance only 5 minutes away, Track & Trail River Camp is as enchanting as its surroundings.

We are specialized in organizing (photo) safaris.

Explore the surrounding wilderness by open game vehicle or for the more adventurous we organize safaris on foot. Spend the day floating in our elevated River pool with unrivalled views or rejuvenating in our specially designed wellness area offering holistic wellness treatments to calm body & mind.

Our comfortable chalets reflect the rustic theme of ‘Simply safari escape’.

Discover our campsite at a prime spot on the Luangwa River, each camping spot ensures sufficient privacy, offering unsurpassed panoramas.

Dining diversities range from simple barbecues to a feast of unlimited flavours.

We pay great attention to detail and individual service. We want to awaken your senses, returning revitalised with your own personal experiences!

Track & Trail River Camp was designed in 2005 by the Dutch owners Peter Geraerdts and Kirsten Gottenkieny.


Track & Trail River Camp is open 12 months a year.

Directions

Getting there
By Air
BA (British Airways) flies directly to Lusaka (the Zambian Capital) from London. (www.britishairways.com).

SAA (South African Airways) flies via Johannesburg to Lusaka and Lilongwe (Malawi’s Capital) from London (www.flysaa.com).

Mfuwe International Airport caters for scheduled and chartered flights from Lusaka, Lilongwe and Livingstone.
All internal flights can be arranged from here, we are more than happy to help you with your flight arrangements

Track and Trail River Camp is a 30 minutes drive from the airport. We can collect you from the airport and take you back. Airport transfers are US$20 p.p. each way.

By Road
9-11 hours from Lusaka.
4-6 hours from Lilongwe.

From Lusaka take the Great East Road to Chipata, there is fuel available in Petauke and Chipata on the way.

Directions from Lusaka and Lilongwe leaving Chipata; turn right 50m after Independence Arch and follow the signs to Mfuwe (South Luangwa National Park).

When you enter Mfuwe town you will pass a BP fuel station on the left. Continue straight on for about 1 km and you will see a sign for Track and Trail River Camp on the right. Turn right on the dirt road and follow the signs. After about 500 metres you will enter Track and Trail River Camp turning right. Continue following the signs on the road, keep left and after about 250 metres you will arrive at the reception.
