INTRODUCTION R. P. Travels is managed by Mr. Ramprasad Sharma - a very popular name in Travel & Tourism Industry as he is highly experienced more than 18 years both in the office and in the field.
Mr. Ramprasad Sharma started his contribution to the growth of tourism industry working as an executive in ARATI TRADING AGENCY; Mr. Satyajit Banerjee was the first person who highly desired him to go to the field trips for the first time to gain a knowledge and experience with 4 German female tourists. It was long back ago when there were few Tour Operators only in Eastern Himalayan sectors. During the time he handled so many customers of India's very prestigious companies such as Thomas Cook, Cox & Kings, Mercury, American Express Travel Related Services, etc. This is a very long story when he used to handle all the tours by Ambassador Cars only and all the sightseeing in Darjeeling by Four Wheel drive Land Rovers which were mainly used by the British for the Tea Gardens. Now Land Rovers in Darjeeling is almost vanished.
After leaving Arati Trading Agency he worked with Help Tourism as a Manager Operations and later worked with other companies like Travels & Rentals, Yak & Yeti Travels, Eastwind Holiday Tours Pvt. Ltd.
Needless to mention that he knows all the destinations in detail with his long experience. He has mastered an art as to how to make a guest happy and to give complete satisfaction so that the guest can take good impression about our history, culture and the people of our native Land. With the help and suggestions of several friends he started his own set up in the name of R. P. Travels in 2004 with his vision of “offering service to the fullest†and to share his rich experiences in traveling which will make your holiday pleasant and memorable.
R. P. Travels is just four years old company in Eastern Himalaya but Mr. Ram Prasad Sharma's experiences is very old in tourism industry and who believes in maintaining specific business ethics without hampering the business of other agencies.
If any group leader comes in direct contact with this agency, he uses to advise the group leader to come through the same agency where he was first contacted.
While at Help Tourism, Mr. Ramprasad Sharma also associated Mr. Supratim Raj Basu in developing the villages under eco tourism guidelines where there were scarcity of water, no electricity & roads but now there is electricity, motorable roads and schools. Mr. Supratim Raj Basu's dedication to Easternhimalaya can not be compared to any one but he is kind enough as he always energized Mr. Ramprasad Sharma in taking part in such a great social works and enabled him to put some dedication in developmental works.
Company's main motto is to grow together but without hampering our friends, our guests, our culture, rich nature and biodiversity.
While on Trek and Expedition avoid alchoholic drinks, smoke & elderly people should check their physical fitness to avoid high altitude sickness. Do not touch the flowers, do not smell the flowers, do not tease the animals, keep all the places neat & clean & destroy the garbage to maintain cleanliness and ecological balance.
Incase of high altitude sickness, we advise garlic soup which controls high altitude sickness. While on trek do not walk fast and chew chocolets that would provide you stamina to climb up. We also advise the patient to come down to lower altitude. Headache and vomitting are the symtoms of high altitude sickness. If it happens then he or she has to come down to lower altitude immediately and hence we always provide sufficient number of staffs so that the patient can be taken care of.
