IMG Academies and Cay Club International are proud to welcome you to the Professional Fishing Academy featuring Captain Blair Wiggins. Wiggins has often been described as a cross between the Crocodile Hunter and a Professional Wrestler when it comes to fishing. Blair has played host to the number one rated fishing show on television for 7 years, Addictive Fishing. Capt. Blair is a seasoned professional fishing guide and is also the 2006 FLW Redfish Series Champion.
Capt. Blair now brings his lifetime of fishing experiences to a training and educational setting at IMGA. He lends his knowledge, winning experience and accomplished colleagues to IMG Academies in a series of summer camps, weekly programs and full-time semester programs.
Expect to Learn:
Reading and understanding charts • Effects of weather, tides, moon cycles • Discussions on regional marine life • Equipment requirements and specifications • Rigging techniques • Artificial and natural bait presentation techniques • Lure choice for different areas and species to target • Fish fighting skills and fish handling techniques • Tournament preparations and procedures • Safety and vessel operation • Conservation and preservation of marine life • and live fishing in the backcountry waters of Bradenton/Sarasota, FL. . .
Professional Fishing Academy classes are tailored to either juniors (10 – 18), adults (over 18) or professionals (charter boat captains, mates, and tournament level anglers) and take place on the IMGA Bradenton, Florida campus and on some of the most pristine backcountry fisheries Florida waters have to offer.
