If only there were a way to give more stars for Service and Value. My wife and I have traveled all over the world. We have vacationed in many places in the Carribean including Belize, Jamaica, Cancun. This was by far the most tranquil vacation we have ever taken. I have spent a lot more on a lot less!
Sarah's hospitality is unparalleled and on numerous occasions we had an entire beach all to ourselves. The only downside is there is no pool and the chalets are not on the beach, however it is ... more

We just returned from spending a weekend (September 2009) at the Chalet Tropical with our 3 young boys and dog. It was perfect. We stayed in Chalet #3 which was a great size for us. Actually it could have fit a couple of more people if necessary. The nearby beaches which can be reached by walking are beautiful, uncrowded and very clean--especially if you are willing to hike a little farther. If you enjoy a certain level of comfort and independance and you don't want to stay in a hotel Chalet Tropical is the perfect place. It's the kind of location that's perfect for unwinding and relaxing.
The Beaches are fantastic some of them do take a bit of effort to reach on foot but then you get the whole place to yourself.
The chalet itself is a work of art, it's individuality increases the enjoyment of being away.

Chalet Tropical Village is well integrated into this wild extraordinary tropical paradise, faraway from the noisy of the city, 'two steps' away from the sea and at the same time close to village. It is a marvellous solution for who is looking for a holiday in completely relaxes.
Situated at Las Galeras, in the most extremely north-east place in the Samana's Peninsula, the cottages are surrounded from the most wonderful and loneliness beaches of the Dominican Republic. Thanks to the geographic isolation, this fishermen village is away from mass tourism and the best for ecological tourism.
In this sea the whales arrive since January to March, choosing these waters to reproduce themselves.

Chalet 1 and 2 can host up to 5 peple, all into one open and comfortable space, with 1 bathroom.
Chalet 3 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, to host up to 7 people. This is the only one where there is even the aircondition.

In the kitchen there are coffe- maker, mixer, rustic gas-stove.
Botled drinkable water provided, hot salted water everywhere.

The closest International Airport is El Catey of Samana (AZS) at 1 hour from Las Galeras(but it has not so much company which land in it). The second best airport for transfers ( with more opportunity to fly in, with JetBlue, Spirit, American Airlines, ...) is Santo Domingo (SDQ), with about 2/3 hours of travel.
