I found Volcano village about 1978. It was my dream to purchase property there, and in 1997 I did just that. We built a small magical little cabin. For many years we enjoyed it ourselves from time to time, and on occasion our friends and family would go and stay at the cabin. Each time we always heard the same things... How beautiful it was, how inspiring it felt, and how they just never wanted to leave.
The cabin is a huge cabin/studio, it offers a very large bathroom with a Large soak tub, a stand up shower, full washer & dryer, full size kitchen, dining area, sitting room with a view of the forest and a gorgeous gas fireplace. We just put in a brand NEW queen size pillow top mattress that makes you fill like you are really sleeping in the clouds and though there is a large picture window just above the bed so as you lay there you can keep your eyes on the Big Dipper.

From the Hilo airport you will want to drive HWY 11 up to Volcano. This drive will take you about 40 min. Then make a right hand turn onto Wright Rd. Take Wright Rd up about a mile passing the Cooper Ctr, and make another right hand turn onto Laukapu Rd. There is a B&B on the corner called the Chalet Kileuea. Once on Laukapu follow all the way down to the end and you are forced to go left. This is know as E Street even though it is hard to find the street sign. Our place is the 2ND driveway on the left.

There is a chain across the drive way, its not locked just roped around the tree to stir any unwanted traffic away.
