Our sound proof JAM-CAVE is open to Accoustic Jam sessions nightly so Grab a shaker or a Jam Bay (African Drum) and join in.
We are truly an international spot enjoyed by thousands over the years and they keep coming back. Basically, we provide all the facilities required by a backpacker with one difference, we do it with attitude. The sound proof cellar is where the Vibe ends and tranquility begins, this is where you can relax in peace and quiet.

From late afternoon you can meet fellow travelers in our buzzing Cellar for a drink or a game of pool. Relax and unwind around a cool, sparkling swimming pool and read a book from our large selection. Cool out under our LAPA an have a braai(outdoor fire for BarBeQuinG 'the African way'). All guests are given clean sheets, pillows and duvets. Most bookings include a free do-it-yourself (DIY)breakfast. One day on the weekend we have a bring and Braai and experience a true South African Braai with great food, music and vibes. We are a Recommended Backpackers for "Lonely Planet".

We are also a pick up point for all major Kruger Safaris, the Baz Bus and can secure cheap rental cars for you the cars are drop off and picked up free of charge from the Hostel. Contact us, regarding our airport pickups 'meet and greet' services and prices. We have a 24 hour shuttle service to get you wherever you might need to go, or you can Bus it.

Closest intersection Republic Rd
WE are situated between Hyde Park and Randburg CBD.
After Gordon rd where the timber city is you turn into the slip road From the Bus Station / Train station
Get on to Wolmarans outside the Bus Station and head west. Take a right at De Beer and then a Left at De Korte (This will be the 2nd road you can turn left). Next road take a right and this will change to Jan Smuts Ave. Stay on Jan Smuts for +/- 10Km
From Central Johannesburg you travel North on Jan Smuts Ave.
From the airport you take
When leaving the airport take the R24 and head towards Johannesburg, this will change to the N12.
Take the N3 North (Sign will say Pretoria). Follow N3 for +/- 10Km and then follow the signs that say the N1 to Bloemfontein. Take the William Nicole off-ramp. Turn left once off the freeway and stay on William Nicole for +/- 4Km. Turn right at Republic road. Left at Jan Smuts. And you will see Sleek Backpackers on your right hand side
