Kumarakam is a cluster of small islands on the Vembanad Lake and this small water world is a part of Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here which is spread across 4 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist’s paradise. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakam sanctuary is a boat trip around the islands. Kumarakom an unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves, interpreted with enchanting water ways and canals adorned with white lilies- a picturesque world of back waters, thatched houseboats, cormorants, Chinese fishing nets and swaying palms, is an ideal get away. Boating and fishing facilities are available at Kumarakam. Holiday packages in the home stays are an out of this world experience at Kumarakam. Coconut creek is a Heritage home or old home is located in Kumarakom near river side or lake side, more than 60 years old bungalow, by the side of the river or canal, which leads to the Kumarakom Lake. The house set on four acres of lush greenery was converted to a modern bed and breakfast (b&b)
Kumarakom is ideal for a vacation, ayurvedic massage, honeymoon trips, bird watching, backwater tours, medical tourism and culinary indulgences like karimeen, a local fish delicay. It is Well connected to other towns in kerala like Kochi and kovalam.
