Geriba... where Buzios happens during the day!!!

Hostel Geriba is located in the heart of Geriba on the edge of a lake, just 400 meters from the largest, most popular beach in Buzios for surfers and sunbathers alike. If you appreciate being closer to the 'locals' and try to avoid tourist traps, Geriba is far better than the Centro. In addition to being close to Geriba and Manguinhos beaches, we are ideally situated in a tranquil and safe area with an awesome view of the lake (great for birdwatching), yet just a short walk to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, pharmacies and easy transportation to the Centro.

The house is a large traditional 'buziano' style, with 4 private rooms and 2 large dormitories (mixed and feminine) for groups and solo travelers. The interior of the house is spacious and 'homelike', with several areas for conversation, watching TV, or relaxing in a hammock while watching the sun set along the lake. You are invited to use our spacious kitchen to prepare your own meals, and we provide internet access free of charge. From here, getting to the centro or anywhere in Buzios, is fast, cheap, and easy.

For the dorms, we offer a 'Without Breakfast' option for 5 Reais less per day. Just choose 'Basic' dorm if you don't want breakfast, or 'Standard' dorm if you want breakfast inlcuded.

Once here, we would be glad to help you plan your stay in Buzios. With so many things to choose from it's important to plan your stay wisely. Boat trips, city tours, surfing, fishing, scuba, golf and horseback riding are just a few of the possibilies, yet in Brazil it's important to book these with someone you trust! If you need transport from the Rio airport we will gladly arrange it for you.

Aramacao dos Buzios is often referred to as the St. Tropez of South America. With 23 beaches, crystalline waters and amazing natural beauty, it's easy to see why Buzios is one of the top destinations in all of Brazil. Brigitte Bardot was one the first of the jet-setters to find this paradise, and from then on the list of the rich and famous that frequent Buzios is endless. If it's not nature your after, then the world class night life might be more your speed, with all-night dance clubs like Pasha, Privelege and Zapata, along with hundreds of other bars and restaurants to choose from.

Directions

From the Rio bus station (rodoviaria):
The bus company 1001 has buses every 2 hours directly to Buzios for around 18 U. Once in Buzios, ask to get off at "Trevo De Manginhos" next to the 'Igreja Catolica', DO NOT GO UNTIL THE CENTRO, or you will have to backtrack. When you get off at the 'trevo', you will see the supermarket Princesa. Walk to the right side of the supermarket, and continue straight ahead along a dirt road with Lake Geriba on your right side. We are located at the end of the dirt road on the edge of the lake (about 50 meters up).

From the Rio airport (Galeao):
You can take a taxi to the bus station for around 15 U, but for just a little more and a lot less headache you can take a shuttle bus directly from the airport to our doorstep, around 30 U (50 Brazilian reais). We can personally arrange this for you… it's fast, easy and safe. The driver will be waiting for you with your name on a sign and will already know where you're going. Just send us an email with your flight information.
