Welcome to the wonderful world of Bamboo Rio Hostel, the newest hostel in the Marvelous City.

As we have just opened and need to build up our reputation, we will make all efforts to turn your stay into an unforgettable experience and the most pleasant of your lifetime!

Our staff makes the difference: always friendly and willing to help you with whatever you may need.

Our location couldn't be better: 3 blocks away from Copacabana beach, the most famous in Rio and worldwide, surrounded by clubs and backpackers points.

Our house is located in the foot of a mountain, in a quiet street with a 24-hrs security. This way we gathered the comfort and excitement of a big city, the security of our house and the amazing view of the woods. You will be able to find out why Rio is known as the Marvelous City.

We can offer you all you expect from a hot top hostel. Spacious dorm rooms with air conditioning as well as many doubles. We also have a swimming pool, chill out lounge, fully set-up kitchen, BBQ area, authentic Boom Bar and mountain lounge, facing the woods.

If you are looking for peace, this is your place. A quiet street with the woods as our main neighbor. Luckily you will see little monkeys and other small animals.

If you are looking for excitement, this is your place too. The hostel has a partnership with one of the most important events production company in town allowing us to get invitations for the biggest parties and raves and better yet, sometimes FOR FREE! We also have partnerships with bars, gym academies and much more. This way you will always be aware of what's going on and always in touch with local young people.

Let us know when are you arriving, so you can use our airport / bus station pick up services

From Airport:
The best and easiest option is to take a taxi. Depending on the time, it should cost between 30-35 reais. Directions for Taxi: Simply print the ‘Directions for Taxi’ (text in portuguese), give it to the driver and they will know where to go.
We’re on the right corner with the Street ‘Rua Tonelero’, right after the Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’, and right before the tunnel. Go down in the Street ‘Rua Lacerda Coutinho’ till number 45.
A cheaper option is the ´Real´ bus. Walk out of the arrivals lounge, take a right past the waiting taxis and look out for the aiport bus stop. It costs around 6 reais and the driver speaks english. It goes along the main beach road of Copacabana - 'Avenida Atlântica’. Ask to stop at 'Hotel JW Marriott’ or at Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’. Walk up this Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’ and turn the first left after Street ‘Rua Tonelero’ on to 'Rua Lacerda Coutinho’. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.

From bus station:
Again the best and easiest option is to take a radio taxi from just outside the bus station. You pay a fixed fee at the counter. It will cost about 20 Reais to get to Copacabana. Directions for taxi: Simply print the ‘directions for taxi’ (in Portuguese), give it to the driver and they will know where to go.
We’re on the right corner with the Street – ‘Rua Tonelero’, right after the Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’, and right before the tunnel. Go down in the Street ‘Rua Lacerda Coutinho’ till number 45.
Another option is to take the ´Real´ bus from in front of the bus station. It’s cheaper but takes much longer. It costs 4 reais and the driver speaks English. Walk past the taxi rank just outside the station and wait for the bus at the side of the road opposite. They run every 15 minutes and will stop on the main beach road of Copacabana - ‘Avenida Atlântica’. Ask to stop at 'Hotel JW Marriott’ or at Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’. Walk up this Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’ and turn the first left after Street ‘Rua Tonelero’ onto 'Rua Lacerda Coutinho’. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.
Alternatively, walk over to the other side of the station and walk across the road, past the taxis, and catch any bus to 'Copacabana', most of which run along Street ‘Rua Barata Ribeiro’. Ask to stop at Street ‘Rua Santa Clara’. Walk up this street (‘Rua Santa Clara’) in the direction of ‘Rua Tonelero’ one block and turn the first left after you pass Street ‘Rua Tonelero’ onto 'Rua Lacerda Coutinho. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.
