Allegretto Bed & Breakfast is in a quiet residential street in the Cerro Alegre/Cerro Concepcion area of the city where visitors tend to spend most of their time.

The area, which was where the English settlers who built the city used to live, has some of the prettiest streets, most impressive architecture and best views of the bay.

Allegretto is in a refurbished period house literally round the corner from bars and restaurants.
The rooms, most of which have private bathrooms, have been decorated to a high standard and furnished with antiques.

The owner, a Londoner, lives next door with his Chilean wife and two small children, and is always on hand to offer help and advice.

Directions

Visitors who arrive at the bus station need to take any bus down the main street that says “Aduana” on the front. A few minutes after the bus goes round the square at the end of the main street, ask to be put off at the Reloj (pronounced “re-lock”) Turri. Just across the road from this clock tower you will see the alley leading to the Ascenseur (funicular railway) Turri. Take this and at the top continue walking up the road that you come out on until it turns into a staircase. Instead of climbing the steps, turn left up Urriola street and then take the first right, go past the cafes and take the first right again into Lautaro Rosas. We are just round the corner on the left.
