Hello dear guests, recently we got some complaints which it is hard to find our place, We are very sorry about the inconvenience.While here are many reasons made it that we can not change the situation,Lijiang is a old town after all.So we strongly suggest you call us at the first moment if you have a chinese number or ask the taxi driver make a phone call to us.If you can not catch a taxi you could turn to stuff of the bus or train station,ask their help to contact us. Also we have a big map of Lijiang old town that you can download from our website.And when you arrived our place and have the general idea about Lijiang then you will see how easy to go to any where from us,Thanks to everyone's understanding and supporting.

Hey, this is Apan, say hi from Lijiang.
I had been moving around China for so many years since I left my hometown Shaoxing in East of China in 1988. After living in several big mega cities in China, I felt so tired of noise, money-persuing business man, and anxious life,so I started to look for my 'Shangri-la'. Finally I found a lovely Courtyard in Lijiang, on ancient Southern Silk Road in northwest mountain region of Yunnan Province. I soon fell in love with this tiny town, which has been listed in UNESCO list of world heritage.
I began to create my beautiful nest for myself and backpackers to share the joy of living in such lovely town. Among the hundreds of hostels and guest houses in Lijiang, my nest, later I called 'Panba Hostel', is different from others.My hostel is located in a quiet area in this town, so the night bars and screaming sound from drunk tourists can never disturb you and get through your ears, though it's just couple of minutes walk to the 'Si Fang Square' which is considered the 'Headquater of Lijiang's night life'. Courtyard of my hostel remains in the original structure of traditional Naxi people's house so while staying in my place you have chance to get closer look into the Naxi culture. After dark, when everybody comes back, my little bar becomes a heaven for backpackers, no expensive beers, and exaggrated price on food, I just want to make my place as a real home away from home for travelers which also is what I was looking for when I was traveling.

If you are interested in my little place and the travel information about this area (like hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge, cycling to several secret old villages and much more), I'd like to share my 2 years experience of living in Lijiang with all of you!

How to find us:
Our hostel is located at the old town of Lijiang but a little far from the crowded downtown. You may find it difficult to find us by house number because the routes of a 800-year old town are quite complicated. But almost from everywhere you can take a taxi to get to our hostel. And of course by some other ways. Here are some suggestions that you can find us from different spots.
----- Our address for taxi driver in Chinese: 丽江古城区金虹路 北门坡加油站石油公司 斜对面煤炭招待所路口(去市一中北门的路)进古城第一个十字路口右拐第二个客栈 潘巴家院客栈 ------ If you have a mobile phone, we suggest you call us (0888-5119077), we can tell the driver how to come,------The tourist city drivers always drop you off at some famous area, where is not close to hostel ,let them call us or you call .we will convince them to drop you off near to us.
【From the airport】
1. Take the airport shuttle bus （25RMB/person）----- Get off at Lantian Hotel (蓝天宾馆) in Lijiang new town, and then take a taxi (10-15RMB) to our hostel

2. Airport pick-up service ( 120RMB/minibus ) ----- Please reserve it in advance, ( 12 hours before ) by email will be perfect. ----- Arrival date, flight Number, Persons, your full name required ----- The driver meets you with the paper written in your name at exit in the airport ----- We suggest the guest take this option when your flight arrives in Lijiang at nightOr family travel or friends travel together, cause the vehicle can take 6 people once. (if not too many luggages)
【From bus station】
---- Usually you will arrive in Lijiang New bus station (新客运站) or Express bus station (高快客运站)---- Take a taxi (10-15RMB) cost
【From train station】
1. Take a taxi (35-40RMB) to our hostel. (12km approximately)

A)Take No.18 bus in the square of train station, then get off at the White Dragon Square (白龙广场) then take the No.2 bus (anticlockwise loop ) and get off at Gas Station Stop(石油公司站)，
B) Take No.4 bus in the square of train station, then get off at the entrance of the old town（古城口） And then transit to No.2 bus (clockwise loop) and get off at Gas Station Stop(石油公司站)，

***No.2 Bus is Circulator bus. either way you can go. Bus running time 7:00am---9:00pm
you will see the big entrance going down to the old town, meanwhile, you will find the Panba Hostel direction sign on the wall, follow the sign, turn right, 2 minutes you will find us .

l IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Buses leaving from the train station where very crowded cause most people get off the train who want to catch those buses, so take care of your luggage well and yourself. The bus do not offer change, prepare RMB 1 before you get on the bus, and they have not english report for stops.
【From within the old town】
Find the Wuyi Street (五一街) from the downtown Square Street (四方街), pass both the Old Stone Bridge and the Small Stone Bridge and keep going at the same street. Follow the signs on the wall. We are right next to the Ruji Primary School (汝吉小学).
