To get to Are Manuiri from the airport you can either walk (approx. 7 km uphill) or book Are Manuiri's airport transfer (NZ$ 14/person).
Usually, our visitors book this airport transfer with us along with their stay. Are Manuiri (or 'the guesthouse' for those who find it hard to pronounce the Maori name) is well known on the island and people can direct you there when asked.
