Flying Kiwi Backpackers

The Flying Kiwi Backpackers is a small, homely hostel just a short walk from the Town Hall Square. We want you to feel like your crashing at a mate's place, where everything is cosy, you can come and go as you please, and nothing is a hassle.

The Flying Kiwi sleeps just 20 people over private and dorm rooms, so you are never going to become 'just another guest'. We have two common areas where you can actually meet the other people visiting Tallinn, share stories and swap ideas.

We'll give you all the great tips on sites to see, where to eat, where to drink and where to party. Or you can always head out at night with The Flying Kiwi staff and we'll show you round our favourite spots!.

The Flying Kiwi Backpackers has both private rooms and dorms spread over the 3rd and 4th floor of a historic building in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town.

On the 3rd floor we have private rooms: 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 triple room with private ensuite. There is also the full guest kitchen, with free tea & coffee, free internet on the guest computer (we also have free wifi throughout the hostel), a sauna, bathrooms, info wall, communal dining area and reception with reference books and a book swap.

The 4th floor is the top floor of the building and here we have the dorm room. Our spacious eight-bed dorm has actual beds, that's right - no bunks, you can sleep in a real bed! Lockers are available for all guests in the dorms. Also on this floor there is a kitchenette, a relaxing communal area and more bathrooms. Wifi is available in the dorms too!

Directions

From the Bus Station (Autobussijaam in Estonian):
Buy a one-way tram ticket from the Kisok at the station. It costs 1€. Take tram number 2, Kopli into town. The closest stop to our hostel is 7th stop, called Baltijaam, the train station. Walk through the train station and through the tunnel under the road. You'll come out on Nunne street. Walk down to the end of the street, we're the last building on your right, next to the park.

From the Airport:
Buy a one-way bus ticket from the Kisok at the airport. It costs 1€. Take bus number 2, which leaves in front of the arrivals hall. Your stop is called A.Laikmaa, it's the 5th stop, and is outside the Viru Keskus mall. Walk straight through the mall and cross the main intersection by the park. Turn right and walk the whole way up Viru street, through the town walls, to the main Square. Cross diagonally across the Square, walk down Kinda, turn left onto Pikk, and we are at the end of Pikk.

From Lindaline ferry terminal:
Walk out of the terminal and follow the road around until you come the main street, Pohja Pst. You should be able to see the town walls from here. Cross the road, walk through the town walls, and this is Pikk street. Walk the whole way up Pikk to where it meets Nunne.

From Viking Line & Eckero Line terminal:
Follow the main road, Sadama, out to the main road, Pohja Pst. Cross the road and walk right until you get to Pikk street with the main town walls entrance. Walk the whole way up Pikk to where it meets Nunne.

From Tallink terminal:
Leave the terminal following Laeva, then Kuunari streets, and turn left onto Kai. Walk across the main intersection and walk right until you get to Pikk street with the main town walls entrance. Walk the whole way up Pikk to where it meets Nunne.

We have one car parking space available outside of Old Town, about at 10 minute walk to the hostel. It is on afirst-in / first-served basis, therefore cannot be reserved. The rate is 5€ / 24hrs.
