Il Colombaio Bed & Breakfast

Il Colombaio bed & breakfast is a really beautiful and charming 'Agriturismo' farmstay located in Tuscany,(Italy) 14 km South of Siena and 50km from Florence and the Mediterranean Riviera (Castiglione della pescaia, Marina di Grosseto, Follonica).

For our guests we have the following available accommodation in a farmhouse of approximately 300 square meter: 6 Rooms, (All with private Bathroom, Air-fan and Frigo-bar) one Living Room, one Breakfast Room, a Reading Room, a Large Kitchen (usable up on request if you have small children), a large Garden with swimming pool, a pergola with big table for barbecue. The rich continental breakfast and the service is included in the room price.

The house has been restored and painted by a wonderful Contemporary Artist. The furniture, the beds and most other objects have been hand made by him; All this contributes to making this house a unique and enchanting place where you can spend your vacations for a short (minimum one night) or long period of time.

Directions

If you come by train
In Siena in 'Piazza Gramsci' square you will find the bus station where you get the bus for Rosia. When in Rosia please phone us and in 5 minutes we will come and pick you up: however we strongly recommend you to rent a car if you want to visit the Area, since Il Colombaio B&B is located 2 kilometers from the nearest bus station, and do it on your feet every day is not that comfortable.

If you come by car
FROM MILANO/FLORENCE
You can rent a car with Europcar (which has an affiliated office near us), or another one of you choice. Then follow these instructions: enter the tollroad and head towards Rome (A1/E35); exit at 'Firenze-Certosa', direction Siena. When you are in Siena, without leaving the main road, continue in the direction of Grosseto (SS223/E78). After about 10 kilometers you will find an Esso gas station (the only one you will find, actually), continue for about 2 kilometers and TURN RIGHT at the signs indicating: Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano and Torri. Go ahead on this road and pass the sign for 'Orgia', then the one for 'Brenna' and those for 'Stigliano' and 'Montestigliano'. Finally you will find a sign with written 'Torri' (a big cypress should stand in the middle of the roas on your left side). At the 'Torri' sign turn left, follow the Cypress slope road and, before the Cypresses ends LOOKING AT YOUR LEFT SIDE take the first or second unpaved road on your left. Proceed another 100 meters and keep right when the road divides, and there you are: welcome to 'Il Colombaio B&B'.

FROM ROME (TOLLROAD)
You can rent a car with Europcar (which has an affiliated office near us), or another one of you choice. Then follow these instructions: take the highway direction 'Firenze-Bologna-Milano' (A1/E35); exit at 'Sinalunga' and take the highway (tollfree) for Siena. When you'll arrive near Siena, stay on the highway and head towards 'Grosseto'. Approximatly 10km after Siena you will find few indicators poining to Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano Rosia and Torri: TURN RIGHT. Then go ahead on this road and pass the sign for 'Orgia', then the one for 'Brenna' and those for 'Stigliano' and 'Montestigliano'. Finally you will find a sign with 'Torri' written on it (a big cypress should stand in the middle of the road, on your left side). At this 'Torri' sign TURN LEFT, follow the cypress slope road and, before the cypresses ends LOOKING AT YOUR LEFT SIDE take the first or second unpaved road ON YOUR LEFT. Proceed for 100 meters and KEEP RIGHT when the road splits in two, and there you are: welcome to 'Il Colombaio B&B'.

FROM ROME (AURELIA ROAD - GROSSETO)
You can rent a car with Europcar (which has an affiliated office near us), or another one of you choice. Then follow these instructions: take the highway direction 'Civitavecchia-Grosseto' (A12/E80) and when you reach Grosseto, take the tollfree highway for Siena (SS223/E78). Approximatly 10km before Siena, when you will find few indicators poining to Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano Rosia and Torri, TURN LEFT. Then go ahead on this road and pass the sign for 'Orgia', then the one for 'Brenna' and those for 'Stigliano' and 'Montestigliano'. Finally you will find a sign with 'Torri' written on it (a big cypress should stand in the middle of the road, on your left side).
