Come and see why everyone loves staying at award winning Pinedale Lodge in the heart of Methven. Our spacious villa has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in Methven, the village for Mt Hutt ski area.
The lodge has spacious living areas with long tables and a sunken open fire and "love-pit" - the ultimate place for meeting people, having a few beers or watching Freeview or videos on the high-definition digital TV. Ease your aching muscles in the 2 person sauna after a hard day of skiing; relax on the sunny verandah reading books and having a cuppa; make friends over a game of pool; cook up a storm in the fully equipped kitchen and let the dishwasher do the rest; tune up your skis in the tuning shed; check your emails with wireless (15mins free) or our internet kiosks
Choice of private double/twin rooms or 5 to 7 person dorms, or contact us about booking into our popular stylish bedroom apartment. The bathrooms were renovated in May 2011 and now boast a gas hot water system.
Pinedale's the only hostel offering personalised mountain transport to Mt Hutt, Porters, Mt Cheeseman, Mt Olympus, Christchurch airport/city or day trips (additional charges apply). We're only 10 minutes drive from the base of Mt Hutt Ski Area and a 5 minute walk away from Methven's eateries, bars, shops etc.
Helpful staff will make transport arrangements and give tourist info to ensure you make the most out of your stay in Methven. Plus there are heaps of guidebooks to borrow or swap.
Heaps of nearby activities - such as skiing, snowboarding, heli-skiing, hot air ballooning, jet boating, Lord of the Rings tours, tandem skydiving, hiking, golf, white water rafting, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and horse-riding.

Pinedale Backpacker Lodge is at 11 Alford Street right in Methven Mt Hutt village, surrounded by beautiful scenery and the Southern Alps. A 10 minute walk from the bus stop, but buses from Christchurch will deliver you to our door.
From Christchurch follow the Main Highway (SH1) south from Christchurch towards Ashburton. At Rakaia, turn right at the Mobil petrol station, then follow the signs for Methven. Once you arrive in Methven, turn right at this Mobil petrol station, first left down Lampard Street, then second right onto Alford Street.

Follow the West Coast Road (SH73) from Christchurch to Darfield and turn left along Inland Scenic Route 72. After the Rakaia Gorge follow the sign for 'Methven - alternate route). Then, from the main intersection in Methven (with the Brown Pub and the Blue Pub), turn right
