Listing Details
Every room has traditional high ceilings and parquet floors, they are comfortable and decorated in a simple, classic style. Well cared for, light and bright and each bathroom is equipped with hairdryer, W.C. paper and wet ones, soap, shampoo and shower gel, towels are middle-sized and not bath towels!, re-freshener and clenex tissues!
The location could not be better, right off of Vienna`s main shopping street, Mariahilfer Strasse is one of Vienna�s liveliest areas. The intersection directly in front of our windows is one of the busiest in the area. Important public transportation connections such as the U3 underground line (Neubaugasse Station); Bus 13A to/from the Sudbahnhof (Southern Railway Station); 10min. walk to the Westbahnhof (Western Railway Station) and approximately the same time to walk to the City�s Center.
There are many places to eat, including coffee houses (traditional Viennese to Starbucks), bars, bakeries, restaurants, deli�s and family style establishments in the area. Therefore, breakfast is not offered as everyone prefers to sample from the multitude of choices in the area. In each room we provide a kettle for hot water with mugs, plus coffee and teabags just for the first morning.
There is a common fridge along the hall to store your food&beverage in case of need.
The Naschmarket is also a 10 min. walk away and is open 6 days a week. You will find fresh fruits/vegetable stands, international deli�s and food stalls offering inexpensive meals. In addition, each Saturday there is also a popular �Flee market�.
The Spittelberg area, noted for its student bars and artistic shops, is also about a 5 min walk away, with twisted, curving cobblestone streets leading you around more, beautiful Viennese architecture.
Our next door neighbour is the traditional, well known, Old Viennese Coffee house called �Cafe Ritter� directly on the corner.
Upon your check-in, we offer a detailed outline of attractions and things to do in Vienna with a city map to help make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. We are also happy to suggest restaurants; museums; using the public transportation; events.....etc. (www.vienna.at)
Please note: The guests house itself is located on the ground floor with just a few steps up to the apartment door. The lobby is very impressive, old styled and quiet. Several historical books of the district list the house as �the most beautiful� house of the 6th District.
Free Internet access is available 24 hours/7days at the reception area.
There are many excellent coffee houses, bakeries and deli�s around the area, and we have found for this reason that our guests prefer to go out for breakfast. Therefore we do not serve breakfast. We provide in each room a kettle with mugs and instant tee-&coffee bags for your first day There are also no kitchen facilities available.
Air condition is available in each room for 10� extra on require.
Reservations should be secured by Visa or Master card, but we will ask you to pay us here in cash.
It is Very Important that you inform us about your arrival time in advance. We are managing a family style establishment, so we need to know when to expect you, as we are not always home. Thank you.
Directions
From Sudbahnhof (Southern Railway Station):
Take 9 stops by tram 18 (20 min) to Mariahilferg�rtel stop. From this tram stop it takes about three minutes to walk to our hostel.
From Westbahnhof (Western Railway Station):
Cross the Mariahilferg�rtel, then take a right and walk down B�rgerspitalgasse.
From the airport:
You can either take an airport bus (�7 per person) till Westbahnhof (west train station), or you can take the train S7 until Wien Mitte, and then change to the subway U3 (�3.40 per person).
By taxi from the airport to the hostel costs �33.
From the International Bus Station (Erdberg):
Take the underground U3 (orange line) till Westbahnhof (direction Ottakring). Get out at the exit for innere Mariahilferstrasse, Millergasse and then take a right and walk down the Buergerspitalgasse.
