Description   The Midland Youth Hostel 2

Well experienced travelers and party people are bound to highly appreciate this hostel for its location and surroundings. It lies in the best bar/club zone of Bucharest, but despite this it is very quiet and cosy.

'The Midland 2' is situated 100 meters away from 'Piata Romana', on the shopping street of Bucharest. Just behind the hostel there is the only fruit and vegetables market in the center of Bucharest, and around it there are all the facilities that a traveler needs – banks, supermarkets, bars (the best bars in Bucharest – Tonka, Planters, Qpub and Green Hours), the famous restaurant “La mama” etc. The Cismigiu park lies 10 minutes away from the hostel. In 'Piata Romana' there are the best links to the train station and the airports (please see the “map and directions” section for more details). The French Embassy is right across the street from us, which makes us the safest hostel in town!

And still it is a remarkably quiet area even if it’s in the center!

'The Midland 2' sleeps 30, in 3 mixed dorms (6,10 and 14 bed rooms). The kitchen is big and bright, it’s fully equipped and the lounge is probably the biggest you have ever found in a hostel. We have a huge collection of DVDs with new movies, a book exchange service, free breakfast (eggs, cheese, jam and margerine, coffee, tea and fresh bread), free internet. If you think that there is something missing, please let us know!

Things to keep in mind:
We have had some comments from guests regarding the following issues, so we are just trying to make them clear for everyone

-Smoking is IS ALLOWED in the kitchen/common area.
-There is air conditioning in all rooms but it is not ON all the time , if you need it , you just have to ask the staff to turn it on.

Directions

From the train station: take bus no 86, 79 or 133 and get off at 'Piata Romana'. Once you get off the bus , keep walking in the same direction , turn right at the first small crossing, and right again at the next one.You should now be on the Biserica Amzei street, the street the hostel is on.You will pass a bar named Tonka , which will be on your right , and then you will arrive at the French Embassy’s guard booth, also on your right .We are exactly across the street from the booth, at number 22 , a black iron bar door.You will also see there the hostel sign on the black iron bar door.

From the airports : Bus no 131 or 301 ( only from Baneasa airport), as well as express bus no 783 (from both Baneasa and Otopeni), get off at 'Piata Romana'. Once you get off the bus , keep walking in the same direction , turn right at the first small crossing .You should now be on the Biserica Amzei street, the street the hostel is on.You will pass a bar named Tonka , which will be on your right , and then you will arrive at the French Embassy’s guard booth, also on your right .We are exactly across the street from the booth, at number 22 , a black iron bar door.You will also see there the hostel sign on the black iron bar door.

Get the tickets from the ticket booth, BEFORE you get on the bus.

LANDMARK: we are right accross the street from the French Embassy's guard booth, at no. 22. Once you've found no. 22 , enter the black iron gate and you will find the sign for the hostel.

This hostel is very easy to find but if you are still confused about how to get here, please check the map and if you still can't find it , show anyone on the street the address (and not the name of the hostel) and they will tell you where we are.
