MADRAS HOTEL Eminence, the sister branch of MADRAS HOTEL Tekka is a 30 rooms setup ideally located in the central part of the city. Situated prominently along the beginning part of Jalan Besar, it is within walking distance to the Lavender MRT train station and the Boon Keng MRT train station. Approximate time to Changi International Airport is about 25 minutes and to the shopping belt of Orchard Road takes you about 20 minutes. It is also outside the fringe of the Central Business District and easily accessible to Suntec City - a shopping, convention and exhibition centre and Singapore latest attraction - The Singapore Flyer.

Right opposite the Hotel, you will find the Lavender Food Square which has outlets serving varieties of local fares which will tickles your taste buds. Guests who need to travel up to Malaysia will find it rather convenient as it is within walking distance to the Lavender Street Coach Terminal and the Golden Mile Complex building where all the coach companies are located.

For a midnight shopping experience, take a cool night walk to the nearby 24 hours Mustafa Shopping Centre where you can find all sort of merchandise on the shelves. For electronics and IT products, you can visit the Sim Lim Tower and the Sim Lim Square which is 3 bus stops away from the Hotel. Fitness & exercise facilities such as an Olympic size swimming pool, running tracks, squash, tennis courts etc are available at the nearby Jalan Besar Stadium.

MADRAS HOTEL Eminence, operational since the beginning of 2008 in response to the heavy demand of hotel rooms in recent months catering to the business and leisure travelers alike from all over the world. We offer a range of single, double, twin, triple and family suites room with rates that suit the budget of all cost conscious guests. Breakfast is provided on a complimentary basis and self service. We would very much like to provide our guests with an international buffet spread like those big hotels but then it will make our room rates above the budget range. Henceforth, we can only afford to provide simple fare like toasts with egg items, butter & jam with coffee or tea and fruits.

Our rooms are fully carpeted with attached hot /cold shower and individual room controlled air-conditioning system. Color television and DVD player is provided in every room for the entertainment of the guests. Local calls and Zone 1511 budget IDD calls can be made directly from the room telephone system. Lan internet access points are available in some rooms and wi-fi access is available throughout the hotel for guests with their own laptops, otherwise a complimentary 15 mins of high speed internet usage is available daily for all guests at our internet corner on the lobby floor.
Other essential services such as photocopying, local and oversea fax facilities, self service coin operated launderette, hot /cold drinking water are available at the lobby floor . Additional electrical appliances like the mini bar fridge can be arrange in the room at minimal cost but iron and hairdryer are available free upon request.

Tourist information and reading materials are available at the Lobby floor. For conducted tours, you can approach our Front Desk to arrange for our in house tour agent - MADRAS TOURS & TRAVEL to handle it. Facilites such as safety lockers for personal items are available at our front desk and baggages storage facilities without charge are available to guests who need to be away for a few days.

Our check in time is 1300 hrs and check out time is 1200 hrs. Early check in on request and availability of rooms will be allowed with a surcharge of S$ 30.00 nett during the period of 0600hrs to 1100 hrs. Late check out on request and availability of rooms will be allowed based on a half day charge. In order to provide those late night arrival guests with a room for the night, we do offer a complimentary midnight rates between the period of 0001 hours to 0600 hours. These rooms are available as when there are free rooms and it is on a walk in basis and not open for reservation.

Directions

If you're coming from Changi International Airport and intend to take the train, follow these 5 simple steps:

Step 1: Proceed to Changi Airport MRT and take the East West line heading towards Tanah Merah.

Step 2: Alight at Tanah Merah MRT. Proceed towards platform B (East West line) and board train going towards Joo Koon MRT.

Step 3: Alight at Outram MRT and board the Northeast line towards Punggol MRT.

Step 4: And finally alight at Chinatown MRT.

Step 5: At the station take EXIT A.
You will come up onto Pagoda Street.
Make a U-turn to your right as you get off the escalator. Walk straight and turn left when you see an alley leading to the next street.
Walk through this alley as the next street is Temple Street. Make a left turn on Temple Street and walk just a few doors to no. 52 Temple Street.
We are on your left on the ground floor.

Alternatively, you can hop in the cab and tell the cab driver 52 Temple Street and you should be at our doorstep within 20 minutes during the off peak hour!
