Description   El Viajero Pedrera Hostel

At just 500 meters from the beach, and surrounded by a natural environment, you will only listen to the sounds of the sea while you enjoy the best moonrise ever seen!!

El Viajero Pedrera Hostel is placed in Punta Rubia’s beach, at 1500 meters from the city centre of La Pedrera, where you will find the famous erosions that show the separation of continents 140 millions years ago;

This is an ideal place to relax; we offer private rooms with bathroom and balcony with sea sight; living room with wood-burning fireplace, kitchen, barbecue and a wide open deck of wood to have a sun bath or enjoy the starry Rocha’s sky. There is also free Internet, TV and DVD room, and we offer rental bikes and surf lessons.

Between Punta del Este and Cabo Polonio, La Pedrera is one of the most famous resorts of Rocha, due to their beautiful beaches (ideal for the surf practice); their great nightlife; the Whale watching (between August and November); the International Short Film Festival (in January); the Carnival parade (the most important in the Uruguayan coast) or their Jazz Festival (in Easter).

Directions

By Taxi (best option): When you take off the bus you will see a Taxi stand, there you take it and ask to go to El Viajero Pedrera Hostel. It will cost around $50 or U$S 2.
Walking: It´s around 1500 mts, you should go to the Route (opposite direction where you take off the bus) until the main entrance to La Pedrera. From there you turn right and walk 1 Km and you will find the sign of El Viajero Pedrera Hostel, there you turn right and walk 500 mts. During the night the way is quite dark so the best way is taking a taxi.
By Car: From Montevideo or Punta del Este you should take Route 10 and you have to pass 1 Km after the main entrance of La Pedrera (Km 230), there you will see the sign of El Viajero Pedrera Hostel, turn right and go 500 mts.
From Brasil you take Route 10 and in the Km 230 you will see the sign of El Viajero Pedrera Hostel (1 Km before the main entrance to La Pedrera) there you turn left and go 500 mts.
