I saw the earlier reviews, and I think things have changed a lot recently. We had hot water, air conditioning, and reasonably clean accommodations--for a backpacker's place. Just like any backpacker's cabin in Costa Rica, you'll want to bring your own mosquito net.
The WiFi is supposed to only work in the common kitchen area, but our room was adjacent to it so we had access right in our room.
They have a guard dog (very friendly towards guests) that might bark once or twice a ... more

Surrounded by fruit trees, plantains, bananas, pineapples, papayas, avocados, coconuts and tropical plants visited by several kinds of birds, monkeys, sloths, iguanas ... among others

**very important it does not arrive until the beach**( it stops in front of soccer field )and it walks 150 meters direct on the street towards the Super Joseth .
From Quepos or San Jose go into Manuel Antonio small town and stops in the soccer field and walks 150 mtrs across the street on your left and you will come to Sol y Mar Backpackers **and it sees the signal*** which is on the left hand side of the road as you are going towards the beach. between Restaurant D' Angels' ...walk down to the stairs (there is also a sign) and you will find Sol y Mabackpackers.
