Deluxe houseboat at Dal Lake, maintained by a traditional Kasmiri family. You will have the opportunity to experience the true hospitability of Kashmiri people, taste the local cuisine (also European food and spiceless dishes available), drink free Kahwa (traditional Kashmiri tea).
The houseboat is deluxe, i.e. it is a richly decorated wooden piece of art. It has two spacious bedrooms with king-size beds, soft European-type (!) matrasses, one dining room, one living room and lakeside terrace. Electricity, 24-hours hot water (own boiler), mosquito nets in windows, fans in bedrooms and the common space. Comfortable bedding and traditional wooden furniture. Spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms, which you have probably not seen in India. Internet in the family room.

We can make special arrangements for long-term stays and have regular European residents (French and English speaking).
We can help you with all your travel arrangements, from airport and bus station transfers, to jeep and taxi rentals, and boat trips on the lake. In particular, we recommend trips to the old town of Srinagar, Mugal gardens around the Dal Lake, shikara (boat) rides on the lake and visits to the floating market and the night market. We help you arrange transportation to mountain stations at Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahgram in Kashmir with trekking options. We can arrange transportation and trips to Ladakh, Manali and Jammu, and recommend you reliable travel agents in Srinagar for safe flight arrangements.

Directions
Our houseboat floats in the middle of the Dal Lake (please notice - the boat is not on the shore but in the middle of the lake, what guarantees excellent views, additional security and piece of mind, as opposed to many other boats advertised!). Before your arrival, please let us have the transportation details by e-mail or phone and we can arrange FREE and SAFE pick-up services from the airport or bus stations.
If you want to get to the houseboat by yourself, ask your taxi drivers to bring you to the Boulevard in front of the Dal Lake and to stop at the ghat (embarcament) opposite the New Park Hotel. From there, take shikara (boat taxi) and ask for Young Bombay houseboat.
Plain shikaras shold cost 5 Rupees by person, and the colourful traditionally decorated shikaras - 10 Rupees per person, please negotiate the price beforehand and do not pay more!
If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to call our phone number - it is a local fixed line number (so connection rates even from your mobile phone are low), and there is always somebody ready to answer your phone and help you.
