Avoca village is four miles away and is the location of the very popular BBC TV series, Ballykissangel. Avoca is situated in a picturesque valley stretching back to the Meeting of the Waters which is two miles away.

Glendalough, the valley of the two lakes, is one of Ireland's most notable locations for scenic, historical and archaeological reasons. Approaching from the east or descending upon it through the Wicklow Gap from the west, it is shrouded in beauty, mystery and tranquillity.

Lettermore Country Home is situated two miles south of Rathdrum on the Avoca Road (R752). From Dublin Airport take MI towards Dublin At MI M50 interchange take M50 going south Take the 2nd exit {after Ashford} for Rathnew
From Rathnew take the R752 towards Rathdrum Avoca. road .Lettermore is situated 2km south of Rathdrum on Avoca Rd
There are trains daily from Dublin and Rosslare.
