The guesthouse offers rooms with one double bed or two single beds. Every room comes with

-mosquito net

The guesthouse has a clean bathroom with shower and western style toilet. On the first floor there is a hammock balcony. There is also a book exchange with more then 300 titles.

We now offer newly built hardwood bungalows. Bungalows come with soft double beds, ensuite bathroom with western toilet and a balcony with hammocks overlooking the Nam Ou river.

As you may know, Muang Ngoi is a remote place without access to regular power, but the guesthouse generates its own electricity from a waterfall in the jungle, so all rooms have 24 hour power and light!

The family can cook authentic Laotian food and breakfast on request (try the sticky rice with coconut and banana)

We have our own boat with seats with pillows and toilet inside which can be chartered on request for pick-up in Luang Prabang or Nong Kiau / Muang Ngoi. Especially the trip from Luang Prabang is very scenic. Onward connection north over the river to Muang Sing is also possible. Please inquire for price.

We arrange 1/2/3 day trips with overnight stay in nearby tribal villages and hikes to the surrounding waterfalls and caves. It also possible to go tubing or kayaking on the nam ou, go fish the traditional way (and BBQ your catch) or do a 1 day jungle trek back to Nong Kiau.

Directions

From Luang Prabang we offer a private boat. This route is very scenic and takes around 5 hours. Boat has soft seats and toilet inside. For bookings please contact us by telephone +856202148777

If travelling with public transport:

From Luang Prabang Northern Bus station you take the 09:30 bus to Nong Kiau. In Nong Kiau there is a connecting boat to Muang Ngoi Neua. The guesthouse is very easy to find: coming from the boat pier, you walk straight to the main street of Muang Ngoi Neua. From here you can see the sign saying 'Phetdavanh Guesthouse'.
