The Surf Shack Bar, Grill and Hostel is located in Hengchun Town in southern Taiwan. It's a 15min drive north from the tourist town of Kenting. The Surf Shack is central to all the beaches and tourist sites in the area. We can arrange scooter rentals to get you there but you must have an international drivers license. Buses will also get you to the beaches and Kenting town cheaply and run 24/7. We also offer a 3 hour tour of the local sites including the National Forest and Lighthouse parks.

We are a western style restaurant on the first floor with 5 rooms on the second and third floors. There is a large balcony with mountain view on the 3rd floor. We also offer surf lessons, surf tours, surfboard rentals and scuba diving tours in the local tropical waters.

Room check in: Anytime after 3:00pm.(If arriving after 10:00pm please contact us to let us know when you'll be checking in.)

Kitchen hours:Weekdays 12pm - 3pm & 5:30pm - 9pm
Weekends 12pm-9pm
Bar hours: 12pm to whenever

Directions

A high speed train from Taipei to Kaohsiung is 1.5hrs and another 2hr bus or taxi ride from Kaohsiung to Hengchun.

We are a 10min walk south from the Hengchun bus station or tell the bus driver you want to get off at Nanmen which is a 50 meter walk south to our place. If you're coming from Taipei, you can take the train, bus or high speed rail to Kaohsiung.
Buses:和欣客運、阿囉哈客運、統聯客運（bus station is near train station）

If you're coming from Kaohsiung, you can take the bus or taxi to The Surf Shack.
Buses:中南客運、國光客運（bus station is near train station）
Taxi: We can arrange a pick up for you from the train station, high speed rail station or the Kaohsiung airport.
