Activity/Tour
An ideal safari for those who want to combine Kenya and Tanzania! It includes an overnight stay in the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi.
Stay at The Ark Hotel in Aberdares National Park, a tree lodge built like the Noar's Bibilical Ark.
Cross the Equator to Samburu game Reserve in the Northern part of Kenya. See different game like Reticulated giraffe, Grevy Zebras, Gerenuks among other. You may visit a Samburu traditional village.
Then drive down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley and its lakes. You watch millions of pink flamingos at Lake Nakuru.
Visit the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. This is where the annual migration of wild beests take place and the spectacular phenomenon has been declared one of 7 wonders of the World.
Cross the Kenya and Tanzania border at Isebania and drive to Serengeti National Park. This is considered like an extension of Masai Mara Game Reserve. The two parks are separated by Mara River. Wild beests cross this river from Serengeti to Masai Mara every year July/September.
Then drive to Ngorongoro Crater where some of the worlds last black rhinos are sheltered. A full day crater tour with picnic lunch is just but amazing. Over to Lake Manyara National Park famous for its birdlife ,tree climbing lion. Each landscape offers unique scenery, wildlife and culture.
Cross the Kenya and Tanzania border again but this time at Namanga border point. Drive to Amboseli situated at the foothills of the highest mountain in Africa Mount Kilimanjaro, with its herds of elephants.
Then return to Nairobi for departure taking home a treasure of African memories. This is a tour one cannot afford to miss!
Typical Day
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi:
Arrive this morning in Nairobi. Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, is a cosmopolitan and lively city, the largest between Johannesburg and Cairo. Set against city skyscrapers is a national park full of wild animals, Nairobi National Park - a haven for lions and rhino as well as zebra and many antelopes. Upon arrival, you are met by Ashford Tours Representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day you are free awaiting the safari adventure to start the following day. Dinner and overnight at NAIROBI HILTON HOTEL.
Day 2: Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve
Your safari adventure starts today. After breakfast meet your safari driver/guide and depart for Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive good time for lunch. After lunch take a late afternoon game drive, returning to lodge for dinner. The lodge is set in the ravine forests on the life sustaining Ewaso Nyiro River and guests can watch the wildlife drink at dawn and dusk from their own rooms. Overnight at SAMBURU ASHNIL LUXURY TENTED CAMP.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve:
Spend the day exploring this savagely beautiful, arid ecosystem. Famous also for its endemic species like Reticulated Giraffe, Grevys Zebra, Oryx and Gerenuk, the river is an arterial lifeline for the abundant wildlife. All meals shall be provided for at your lodge. Overnight at SAMBURU ASHNIL LUXURY TENTED CAMP.
Day 4: Samburu - Aberdare National Park:
Drive to Aberdare National Parks via lush Kikuyu land to your all night game viewing lodge. From the balcony of the lodge you can see game coming to drink from the flood-lit waterhole. Overnight at THE ARK TREE HOTEL
Day 5: Aberdares - Lake Nakuru National Park:
After breakfast depart Treetops and descend into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at a safari lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive through this diverse park famed for its greater and lesser flamingoes, rhinos and waterbucks. Dinner and overnight at FLAMINGO HILLS LUXURY TENTED CAMP.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara Game Reserve:
After a hearty breakfast, drive through Maasai country to Kenyas number one game reserve, the Maasai Mara. Arrive for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive in search for the famous ''big five'' and various animals that roam the vast plains. Dinner and overnight at MARA SERENA LODGE
Day 7: Full day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve:
Breakfast at the camp. Full day game drive exploring the magic of this unique and fascinating game reserve, where the annual migration of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes takes place annually. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. You also have an option of visiting a local Maasai Village, a tribe of traditions and celebrations, unique in their way of survival, living in harmony with nature. Dinner and overnight at MARA SERENA LODGE
Day 8: Maasai Mara - Isebania - Serengeti National Park:
After an early breakfast depart with picnic lunches to the Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border and through the vast plains. Enjoy your picnic lunches and continue on a leisurely game drive in this side of the park en route to the Lodge arriving late evening. Dinner and overnight at the SERENGETI SOPA LODGE
Day 9: Full day in Serengeti National Park:
Breakfast at the lodge. Morning and afternoon game viewing drives in the Serengeti national park. The wildlife defines the Serengeti-countless zebra; buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest and other species make it their home. The terrain is the main stage for the great wildebeest migration, an awesome spectacle involving millions of these beasts. Lunch, dinner and Overnight at the SERENGETI SOPA LODGE
Day 10: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater:
Early morning game viewing drive in the Serengeti followed by breakfast at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. Depart with picnic lunches on a game viewing drive en route to Ngorongoro National Park. After lunch depart and continue to ascend to the exterior of the crater reaching its rim and here your first glimpse of what has often been referred to as the Eighth wonder of the World.ť Dinner and overnight at the NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE
Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater:
Early breakfast at the at the lodge. Then descend to the floor of the crater and have an experience of a lifetime, as you watch literary thousands of game that Africa has to offer. The unique eco-system supports the delicate balance of predator and prey in the endless quest for survival. Picnic lunch boxes will be served by the hippo pool. As the sun sets on the western side of the crater rim ascend and return to the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE
Day 12: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara National Park:
Breakfast at your safari lodge and then depart for the Lake Manyara National Park for the afternoon game viewing drives, the extraordinary birdlife and Tree climbing lions are but one of the lure. The place is world-renown amongst the ornithologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingos and great birds of prey. Dinner and Overnight at the MANYARA SERENA LODGE
Day 13: Lake Manyara - Amboseli National Park:
After breakfast, drive to Arusha for lunch. The proceed on to Namanga border point. Here you will change the vehicles and the driver guides before proceeding on to Amboseli National park. On arrival enjoy an evening game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE.
Day 14: Amboseli National Park:
With breathtaking views of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, here one will find excellent cuisine and luxurious rooms with en-suite bathrooms, built on the masai village achtecture. You will enjoy a morning and evening game drives. All meals shall be served at your lodge. Overnight at AMBOSELI SERENA LODGE.
Day 15: Amboseli - Nairobi - Depart:
Departure from your lodge after breakfast and drive to Nairobi to arrive for lunch at Carnivore Restaurant or Pampa Churascaria Restaurant. Visit the Giraffe Center and Karen brixen Museum. Evening transfer to Airport for departure.

Our main office is based in Twiga Towers, Muranga Road off Moi Avenue in Nairobi. Besides the main office in Nairobi, Ashford Travel maintains a branch office in Mombasa with a fleet of vehicles to cater for our Airport transfers and tours and travel requirements and facilitate. We have an affiliate office in Dar es Salaam to operate tours and travel services in Southern Tanzania, which include the game parks of Selous, Ruaha and Mikumi, and beach holidays on the Indian Ocean coastline. We have our own customer service staff in Zanzibar to personally look after our clients’ needs on the islands. We are maintaining these offices in the key tourist centres simply to ensure personal attention to our guests.
We have Installed Galileo Air Ticket booking systems to facilitate easy and efficient services to our customers inquiring about Air Travel. Our qualified staff will offer the most convenient flight schedule with the best available Air fares. Our staff will also provide information on destinations including visa requirements. Where required, we always deliver Air tickets to our customers offices.
Our offices are equipped with state-of-the-art communication equipments to facilitate contacts with our customers and suppliers. This includes 24 hours internet connection and modern computers. HF radio communication systems are also installed to establish constant contact from vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to base stations, especially while in the bush.
The Company has Increased the size, and quality, of our fleet to over 10 safari vehicles, and 4 saloon vehicles for personalized Airport transfers. We also hire them out to our esteemed customers only. This does away with the problem of sub-contracting vehicles, which inevitably compromises the quality of services.
Ashford Travel Employ the best driver-guides and operations staff with expert knowledge in wildlife and other areas of tourist interest. The driver-guides are continually under training in clients safety, wildlife, general knowledge and foreign languages: English, Japanese, German, and Spanish. Altogether the company has a total of 14 employees and 8 part time guides.
Ashford Travel Maintain the Flying Doctor membership to cover our guests individually for instant rescue and medical evacuation to Nairobi. Client participation fee: US$15 to US$25 from all over Kenya and Northern Tanzania and US$30 to US$50 for Southern & Western Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Ashford Travel is streamlined to operate in all tourist circuits in Kenya which cover wildlife safaris including camping; beach holidays; cultural and historical tours; walking safaris and mountain climbing. We are also marketing out-bound programs especially those combining Kenya with Tanzania and Uganda.
Ashford Travel also introduced camping safaris in 2004. It started with budget camping for a year and then ventured into standard camping in response to a different level of clientele. In 2006 was the introduction of another product of a higher level, semi-luxury camping, again a direct response to the market. All three products, budget, standard, and semi-luxury camping, came to be so popular that we had to establish an independent unit for camping to cater for the expanded operation.
Our safari vehicles are specifically converted for maximum space and comfort. All of them have roof hatches to facilitate good viewing and convenient photography while doing game drives. We have introduced a larger version of 4X4 Land-rover and Land-cruiser, which is wider, longer and more spacious, with 6 window seats in the passenger cabin, panoramic sliding windows, and an open roof, excellent facilities for sight seeing and game viewing.
Ashford Travel is constantly investing in product development, for we know it is in our interest as well as our duty to ensure that all our guests go back home happy and satisfied with the destination Tanzania. Only this way will they be our good ambassadors to others and come back again to visit us.
