Val's Backpacker Hostel

Val's is located in Dangriga in southern Belize. This city is the cultural capital of Belize, where the Garifuna people live. Dangriga is 105 miles from Belize City. Phillip Goldson International Airport is only 20 minutes by plane from Dangriga.

Val's Hostel has 24 bunks. We have 2 dorms, 1 dorm for 8 people and one for 16 people. Each dorm is equipped with lockers for each bed, so we have 24 boxes. The Hostel is located in front of the Caribbean Sea, so it is usually windy and cool. We also have a large terrace where you can relax and look out at the horizon. With a clean homely atmosphere, Val's always a warm and welcoming.

If you want to relax, we have some comfortable couches and TV which you can enjoy a cold fruit juice, Coca-Cola, ice cream, cakes, biscuits or pizzas. We also have toast with peanut butter and jelly and coffee, cereal and fruit for breakfast.

We can assist you in planning what and where you would go to see, from the city to the keys, caves, wildlife etc.

The telephone service is very reliable, so communication is no problem.

Directions

By plane: You can take a domestic flight from Dangriga, either Maya or Tropic Airways direct to Dangriga. Then from the airport, take a taxi to Val's. All taxi drivers know where we are.

If by bus: Our services are National Transport and James Bus Lines. The two of them travel to southern Belize, where we are. They travel every hour from Belize City to Belmopan and then on to Dangriga. From the bus terminal in Dangriga, you can walk or take a taxi on the main road (Havana Street and San Vicente Street) and turn towards the sea.
