El Buho

We´re a rustic style Costa Rican family run hotel. We offer 9 comfortable, very clean and well maintained rooms. Five of our rooms have a excelent view of the volcano. All rooms have private bathroom, a fan and Cable TV. Some rooms have a fridge and a safe box.

The general reaction from our visitors is that they are getting a way better place than they normaly do for this kind of money.

We are located in a very quiet corner of the town center. The town square where you can find most restaurants and shops is only two blocks away. La Fortuna town is about 15kilometers (10miles) from the active side of the Arenal volcano. From La Fortuna it´s easy to get a tour to get to know the Arenal volcano and it´s surrounding jungle, mountains, hotsprings and lake.

We work together with Red Lava tours that offers the best excursions to the volcano and has plenty of other activities they can help plan. They are also the ones we work with for the transportation to our hotel (see directions). They speak German, Dutch, Spanish, English and some French so communication is never a problem.

I´m realy looking forward to your stay and we´ll show you that authentic Costa Rican hospitality doesn´t have to come at a high price.

Directions

Were located 50mtrs north and 200mtrs west of the catholic church. The easiest way to get to us is by going to the office of Red Lava tourist service center located at the bus terminal. If you come by bus you´ll get out exactly at their office so just go there and they will bring you to our hotel without any charge. Their multi-lingual staff (eng-sp-german-dutch) can also help you with any other information you might need and they can tell you about activities and tours that can be done in the La Fortuna area.
