Cipi Hostel

Cipi Hostel is located in Ataco (Concepcion de Ataco), which in
the native (indigenous) language, Nahuat means 'a place in the high springs.' Five rivers flow through the many surrounding mountains and from here you can see Guatemala's southern mountains, El Chingo Volcano, the Espino Valley, Ataco Valley and Quezalapa Hill, among others.

Ataco sits at 4000 feet above sea level in a mountainous region in Ahuachapan state.
The town's personal characteristic are cobblestones streets, pleasant climate and also colorful murals.

Here you'll find many small shops and workshops bursting with handmade treasures, such as embroidered dresses, sculptures, coffee candles and hand woven textiles. In the pre-Hispanic era, women used to weave using looms that they fastened around their waists. Pedal looms replaced the waist looms during the colonial times and are still used to this day to weave colorful bedspreads, hammocks and other garments.

As Cipi hostel is cetrally located in the historic part of town, two blocks from central park, our guests can
either relax in our spacious and colourful garden or stay at Cipi and go hiking on several trails, visit the green lagoon, waterfalls, coffee plantations. Ataco is just 30 mins away from Juayua by bus.


Gues can either stay in dorm rooms or private ensuite facilities.

Take bus 249 from Sonsonate ($1) or Ahuachapan ($0.45), which is less than 15 mins. away. A supermarket and an ATM are found in Ahuachapan.

From Guatemala city-ATACO is approximately 2 and a half hours. The crossing border is Las Chinamas.
