Maplewood Backpackers is situated in Ilfracombe on the North Devon Coast.
A warm welcome awaits you in this informal hostel situated a few yards from the High Street and the Sea.

Maplewood is a Grade II listed Victorian building of unusual beauty bosting a host of original features.

We offer Dorm and Private rooms, a large guest kitchen, dining room and even a free Internet terminal on a quiet landing.

Maplewood House is a beautiful Victorian building retaining most of its original features

The town is an ideal centre for the surfing beaches of woolacombe, croyde and saunton a short bus ride away, or if you are into walking, Exmoor to the east gives you mile after mile of explorable wilderness

Maplewood is located in Ilfracombe in North Devon, ideally placed for walking, surfing or just chilling.

Although we run along hostel lines, we do not have a lock out time. Nor do we operate a curfew.

Directions

Entering via Braunton.

Descend into Ilfracombe until you reach a set of traffic lights (just past a small roundabout) - turn left

Carry on down Wilder Road. You will pass La Bastille on your right - straight on at the traffic lights.

Pass the Osborne Hotel - just after this - turn right and take the right fork at the Grosvenor Hotel and up Fortescue Road.

Maplewood is about half way up on the right.



Entering via Combe Martin

Pass the Hele Bay Hotel, the Hele Bay and the Thatch,

Carry on down the High Street, past the Bunch of Grapes and at the Traffic Lights (By The Queens) - turn right.

Go to bottom of the hill and turn right again.

Pass the Osborne Hotel - just after this - turn right and take the right fork at the Grosvenor Hotel and up Fortescue Road

Maplewood is about half way up on the right.
