Welcome to Ryokan Hiraiwa!!

Convenient location for Kyoto sightseeing. There are many places to see around our Ryokan.
Our ryokan is halfway between Kyoto Station and downtown. It is one of the best-known and oldest members of the Japanese Inn Group. The Hiraiwa family has been welcoming foreigners from all over the world since opening their doors in 1973.

As we speak English, forein people are very welcome to stay at our Ryokan.

The guesthouse has very hospitable, home-like atomosphere and economical Japanese Inn.

Accommodation Information

The rooms come with tatami floors and futon bedding.

Not all rooms are furnished with a private bath but a communal Japanese-style tub is available. Japanese and Western breakfast are optional

A bus and a toilet are not situated in a room.
We have common bath you can lock up from inside.

Since it is locked from an inner side, please take a bath in comfort.

Directions

From JR Kyoto station

Take a bus #17, #205(don't get on 205 Rapid which skip our stop) at Bus Stop No.A2 of Kyoto Station City Bus Terminal to Kawaramachi-shomen Bus Stop (the third stop). Thence follow the bus route and turn to the right at the second traffic lights 150-meter from the corner. 15min. on foot from JR Kyoto Station.

Meishin Expressway, Kyoto Higashi(East) Interchange

Take the road Gojyo Stn., and drive about 15 to 20 min. You hit Higashiyama Tunnel and Gojo Bridge of Kamo River, then drive slowly, after crossing this bridge left side, you find Mobil Gas Stn, turn left, Kawaramachi Street, toward Kyoto Station. Second traffic light, turn left, landmark is Tony Lama Boot Shop.
Then cross the small river, Takasegawa, fifty more meters, you will find on your left. (In case you made a mistake and go to Sanjo St. keep going until hit Shopping Arcade, no traffic, 20 to 25 min. turn left in 5 min. you'll find Mobil Gas Stn. on your left, then follow the upper instruction)

Meishin Expressway, Kyoto Minami(South) Interchange

Take Route 1, for Kyoto (downtown), Keihankokudo, in ten min. you hit Kujyodori (9th St), turn right, you will find Toji temple five storied pagoda on your left, and keep going until you hit Horikawa St (Aburanokoji), turn left, for Kyoto Station direction, in a couple of min from the pagoda, keep going straight street is Karasuma, and keep going second major street is Kawaramachi St, you will find Mobil Gas Stn on your right, turn right, then follow #1 instruction.
